SEC Power Poll

SEC sports betting action is coming down to the wire, and the following poll shows how the entire conference performed at BetUS Sportsbook last week.

1: Auburn Tigers (13-5 ATS, 16-9 SU) (6-4 ATS, 5-5 SU in SEC) (LW: 1) If not for such a low RPI (93) and SOS (84), the Tigers would be putting together a resume worthy of consideration for the NCAA Tournament. They took out Mississippi State and Arkansas without any troubles at home, but the real tests will come on the road, where four of their next five games will be played. A win in the Bayou this week could turn just enough heads to make a case.

This Week: Away @ Georgia, Away @ LSU

2: Mississippi Rebels (13-7 ATS, 13-11 SU) (8-2 ATS, 4-6 SU in SEC) (LW: 2) The Rebels just keep on rolling! Even though they lost 73-66 in Baton Rouge last weekend, they stuck in front of the NCAAB betting line, and have now covered six out of seven and eight out of ten. They’re not going to sniff the NCAA Tournament without a Georgia-esque run through the SEC Tourney, but boy can they make life difficult on the Vols this week at home, where they’re a whopping 6-3 ATS.

This Week: Home vs. Tennessee, Home vs. Georgia

3: Kentucky Wildcats (11-9-1 ATS, 18-8 SU) (5-6 ATS, 7-4 SU in SEC) (LW: 5) That’s much better, Kentucky. The Wildcats look more like a Tournament team once again after beating both Arkansas and Florida in huge games last week. If they hold serve in Lexington for the rest of this year and don’t embarrass themselves in the SEC Tournament, 22 or so wins should be plenty to go dancing. The problem is that they’re only 5-6 ATS at home and had lost two straight SU before beating the Gators last Monday.

This Week: Away @ Vanderbilt, Home vs. Tennessee

4: LSU Tigers (10-7 ATS, 21-4 SU) (7-3 ATS, 9-1 SU in SEC) (LW: 4) And who said the SEC would never have another ranked team this season… The Bayou Bengals have now won six straight games, and are certainly the class of a conference many figured they would finish at the bottom of. Trips to Arkansas are never fun, so that #24 ranking may not last too long.

This Week: Away @ Arkansas, Home vs. Auburn

5: Mississippi State Bulldogs (10-8-1 ATS, 16-9 SU) (6-4 ATS, 6-4 SU in SEC) (LW: 3) It was a crippling week for a Mississippi State team that had visions of dancing in March in its heads. A split against Auburn and LSU was a must that just didn’t happen, and it’s now an uphill battle for the Bulldogs to do enough to make a claim to get into the field. A 7-3 ATS mark at home will be on the line this week when the Gamecocks come to town.

This Week: Home vs. South Carolina, Away @ Alabama

6: South Carolina Gamecocks (8-8-2 ATS, 18-5 SU) (5-3-2 ATS, 7-3 SU in SEC) (LW: 7) The Gamecocks picked up their second victory in their L/3 road games by beating Alabama 75-73 over the weekend. They’re now 3-1-1 ATS in their L/5, and could hit the magical number of 20 wins on the season against two slumping ball clubs this week.

This Week: Away @ Mississippi State, Home vs. Arkansas

7: Arkansas Razorbacks (8-8 ATS, 13-10 SU) (3-7 ATS, 1-9 SU in SEC) (LW: 6) Time to start planning for the NIT! The ‘Backs have now dropped five straight games after getting blown away by both Auburn and Kentucky last week. They’ve also failed to cover three straight spreads, and are just 3-7 ATS in their L/10. Two of the better teams in the conference are on the slate this week, so expect to see that losing skid extend to seven.

This Week: Home vs. LSU, Away @ South Carolina

8: Tennessee Volunteers (10-11-1 ATS, 16-8 SU) (5-5 ATS, 6-4 SU in SEC) (LW: 8) A much better week of basketball last week may be enough to keep the Vols in the field for now. With four of their next five on the road though, things could still get dicey, especially with an early exit from the SEC Tournament. Tennessee is just 2-5 away from Rocky Top this year.

This Week: Away @ Mississippi, Away @ Kentucky

And the rest…

9: Florida Gators (7-10-1 ATS, 19-6 SU) (5-4-1 ATS, 6-4 SU in SEC) (LW: 10)

10: Vanderbilt Commodores (8-12-1 ATS, 15-9 SU) (2-7-1 ATS, 4-6 SU in SEC) (LW: 9)

11: Alabama Crimson Tide (7-11-1 ATS, 13-11 SU) (2-7-1 ATS, 3-7 SU in SEC) (LW: 11)

12: Georgia Bulldogs (7-10-2 ATS, 10-15 SU) (3-6-1 ATS, 1-9 SU in SEC) (LW: 12)
