After winning three consecutive ACC games to open conference play this season, the Boston College Eagles, (13-14 SU, 10-12 ATS, 14-8 O/U), have gone a pathetic 1-10 since beating the Miami Hurricanes, (20-8 SU, 13-6-2 ATS, 10-11 O/U), at home 76-66 on Jan. 15.

BC’s slide includes a 0-6 mark on the road and four consecutive losses coming into tonight’s contest, including a 90-80 home loss to North Carolina despite a spectacular 46-point game from junior point guard Tyrese Rice that everyone slack-jawed, including Carolian head coach Roy Williams who said afterward, “we withstood a tremendous show – as good as I’ve ever seen – from Tyrese Rice in the game.”

The Hurricanes have won five of their last six games, including a 95-93 win over Virginia on Saturday that gave the team its 20th win of the season.

The Eagles are averaging 72.0 points per game on 45.9 percent shooting while allowing their opponents to score 71.6 points per game on 43.7 percent shooting.

The Hurricanes are averaging 75.2 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting while allowing 68.9 points per game on 41.2 percent shooting.

BC has covered the spread in four of their last six games while the hurricanes have dropped their last two games against the spread.

Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my NCAA Basketball Wagering Free Picks:

The Eagles are 6-0 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a S.U. loss.

The Hurricanes are 4-0 ATS in their last four games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous game.

The Hurricanes are 6-1-2 ATS in their last nine games following a ATS loss.

The Over is 5-1 in Eagles last six Wednesday games.

The Over is 11-2 in Hurricanes last 13 games following a ATS loss.

The Eagles are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Miami-Florida.

The Eagles are 10-1 ATS in the last eleven meetings.

Analysis: This game will be all about the ‘payback’ factor for the Hurricanes who are playing excellent basketball at the moment, but I think the Eagles will find a way to cover the spread in a losing effort.
