BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds: KANSAS -19.5, Total 147
The Texas Tech Red Raiders (16-12 SU, 15-8 ATS) will try to score their second straight major upset on Monday night, but they have a monumental task at hand when they visit the Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence to take on the Kansas Jayhawks (26-3 SU, 13-12-1 ATS) in Big 12 action that is slated to begin at 9 PM ET.
In the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds, Kansas is listed as a 19.5-point favorite, with a total of 147 points.
Here are some of the NCAA basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* TT has covered nine of its last 13 games
* TT has won four of its last six games SU
* TT has played seven of its last eight games OVER the total;
* TT has lost eight of its last nine road games SU
* TT has played four of its last five road games OVER the total
* KAN is 1-7-1 ATS in its last nine games
* KAN has played 11 of its last 16 games OVER the total
* KAN has played seven of its last eight games OVER the total
* KAN has covered five of the last seven meetings
* KAN has won seven of the last nine meetings SU
* Four of the last six meetings have gone UNDER the total
* KAN has won and covered the last five meetings as the home team
* KAN has had the shooting edge in five of the last seven meetings
* KAN has had the rebounding edge in each of the last seven meetings
* KAN has made more three-pointers in four of the last six meetings
Despite 39 points by Michael Beasley, Kansas still beat Kansas State by 14 points on Saturday. That was an emotional game for the Jayhawks, who still have a shot at a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. So there are a couple of questions - not just whether Texas Tech can come back a couple of days after registering a huge upset over Texas, but how focused Kansas can get again after extracting some revenge against K-State, which dealt them their first loss of the season in a previous encounter.
Frankly, we're a little concerned about Kansas and their accuracy, as they've been below their season average in each of their last five games. And the red raiders have been a relatively solid 5-3 ATS since Pat Knight took over the coaching reins from his father.
Knight really took his team to task after getting knocked around by 44 points at Texas A&M last Wednesday night, and they responded with the win over Texas, which had been a very hot team coming in. But speaking of "hot," that's what Texas Tech's uber-marksman Alan Voskuil is, hitting 58% from beyond the arc in his last six games. He has the ability to keep Texas Tech in this for a while.
We'll take the points with Texas Tech, the 19.5-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds.
