BetUS NCAA basketball betting odds: TENNESSEE -3, Total 159.5

The Tennessee Volunteers (25-2 SU, 13-9-1 ATS), the newly-christened, undisputed #1 team in the country, take to the road on Tuesday night, though they stay in state as they will take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (23-4 SU, 13-13 ATS) in Southeastern Conference action that is scheduled to start at 9 PM ET at the Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville.

In the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds, Tennessee is listed as a three-point favorite, with a total of 159.5 points.

Here are some of the NCAA basketball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* TENN has covered seven of its last nine games

* TENN has covered six of its last nine road games

* TENN has played seven of its last eight road games UNDER the total

* VANDY has covered four of its last five games

* VANDY has won its last six games SU

* VANDY has played nine of its last 12 games UNDER the total

* TENN has won four of the last five meetings

* TENN has covered five of the last six meetings

* Five of the last six meetings have gone UNDER the total

* The home team has covered four of the last five meetings

* TENN has covered six of the last seven meetings as the road team

* TENN has had the shooting edge in three of the last four meetings

* TENN has had the rebounding edge in three of the last four meetings

This is going to be a HUGE task for Tennessee. Coming back just a few days after its road win over Memphis, which got a lot of well-deserved hype and had probably been on the Vols' minds for weeks, they have to come right back and face a Vanderbilt team that is good enough to be rated #14 in the USA Today poll and #10 in the RPI, which is a major determinant of seeding in the NCAA tourney. And more importantly, for our purposes, this is a team that is seething with a revenge motive, as the 'Dores were shellacked by Tennessee to the tune of 80-60 in the last meetings, which was held in Knoxville on January 17.

That was in the midst of a bad run for Vandy, as it was losing four out of five games. But fortunes have been reversed, as the Commodores have won six games in a row, getting revenge over the likes of Florida and Kentucky. Shan Foster is too good a shooter to be held to 1-for-11 from beyond the arc again. And let's keep in mind that Vanderbilt is the better free throw shooting team (73%-64.5%) in this game.

The 'Dores are getting points at home, where they have actually won 30 of their last 31 games. They may or may not catch Tennessee still reading its press clippings, but it is nonetheless very difficult for a team to get itself up for big games within three days of each other. We're going to grab the points at home with Vanderbilt, the three-point underdog in the BetUS NCAA college basketball betting odds. And consider Vandy at the +110 price offered in the BetUS money line as well.
