Pat Knight brings his Red Raiders team into Texas A & M to take on what I believe is an underrated Aggies’ squad. Texas A& M lost both their best player from last year, Acie Law, as well as their coach, Billie Gillespie. All they’ve done this year is go 20 and 7 straight-up and 13 and 7 against the BetUS spread. They’ve gone 9 and 2 against the BetUS spread at home. In their last 10 games Texas A & M has gone 7 and 3 against the BetUS spread. The Red Raiders lack the needed talent in order to make waves in the ultra-tough Big-12. The key for them will be next year as Pat Knight has to prove himself to be a good recruiter. That’s what the college game is all about right? With that being written, the Red Raiders are still a pretty good team going 7 and 3 against the BetUS spread in their last 10 games.
Here are more trends:
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 13 and 3 against the spread in their last 16 games on a Wednesday night.
The Texas A & M Aggies are 5 and 2 against the spread in their last 7 games as a favorite.
The HOME team is 6-2-1 against the spread in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.
Even though 9.5 points feels like a lot and looks like a lot, I believe that the Aggies have enough to beat the Red Raiders by at least 12 points in this game. They are the better team and should start setting their sights on a good seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Aggies are a dark horse this year as opposed to being a favorite last year.
They are also on a three game losing streak straight-up. That should provide plenty of fire for them going into this home game versus a Big-12 rival.

The Red Raiders have been playing above their talent level. Heck, they’ve been playing above their talent level since Bobby Knight got there. Now, they get to play under coach Pat Knight who might be able to get more out of his players then his father did. It shouldn’t matter in this game, however, as Texas A & M knows they have to win.
When a team like Texas A & M has their backs to the wall, watch out. The fact that they are at home give me even more reason to believe they will dominate the Red Raiders from the outset.
The BetUS line is Texas A & M Aggies – 9.5 against the spread at home versus the Texas Red Raiders.
I like the Aggies to cover this spread.
