NBA Preseason Wagering - Washington Wizards at New Orleans Hornets

Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

The Washington Wizards, (1-2) just can’t get past the Cleveland Cavaliers in the postseason despite having three all-star players in Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron ‘Tough Juice’ Butler.

The New Orleans Hornets, (3-0) have the best point guard on the face of the planet in Chris Paul and are one of my two picks to reach the Western Conference Finals.

Both teams have different agendas entering the 2008-09 regular season, as they meet for tonight’s preseason contest at the New Orleans Arena.

The Hornets are off to a perfect 3-0 start to the preseason, averaging 100.0 points per game while limiting their opponents to just 86.0 points per contest.

The Wizards have struggled without the injured Arenas and Jamison, averaging just 77.7 points per game through three preseason contests while allowing 877.0 points per game defensively.

Here is a look at the NBA Odds for tonight’s contest, followed by my analysis and NBA Free Picks:

NBA Odds

Washington Wizards +7 -110

New Orleans Hornets -7 -120

Over 188½ -115

Under 188½ -115

Analysis: While preseason wagering in any sports can often be a difficult prospect if you haven’t done your homework properly on each team, this pick is pretty much money in the bank with New Orleans trying to set the tone for the start of their regular season and the Wizards just try to evaluate some players with Arenas and Jamison out of the lineup.

Take the Hornets to win and win handily while covering the 7-point spread.
