NBA Parlay Picks – Grizzlies Host Clippers Seeking Consecutive Wins
Clippers (+5) at Grizzlies (-5)
(O/U) 199
8:00 PM ET
Don’t go into cardiac arrest or anything, but the Memphis Grizzlies (2-8 SU, 4-6 ATS, 5-5 O/U) have an opportunity to record consecutive victories when they play host to the Los Angeles Clippers (4-8 SU, 4-8 ATS, 5-7 O/U) at FedExForum tonight at 8 PM ET.
Grizzlies
The Grizzlies don’t have to deal with the media attention surrounding former guard Allen Iverson any longer and can now concentrate on winning basketball games.
After announcing that Iverson would no longer be with the team on Monday, Memphis wet out and spanked the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves 97-87 on Saturday to snap a seven-game SU losing streak while covering the NBA point spread for the second time in their last four contests.
Gifted second-year shooting guard O.J. Mayo and veteran small forward Rudy each scored a team-high 19 points.
"We sat down as a team and had a long discussion about what we needed to do to get better," point guard Mike Conley told reporters. "
Clippers
The Clippers have lost four of their last five games and let me down in a big way on Tuesday, falling to a mediocre New Orleans Hornets squad 110-102 and failing to cover the game’s NBA point spread as 1.5-point home favorites.
Forward Al Thornton poured in 30 points for Los Angeles but the Clippers allowed a whopping six Hornets players to reach double digits in scoring in the loss while getting totally out-rebounded by the margin of 51-36.
Key Trends
- Clippers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss.
- Clippers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.
- Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win.
- Grizzlies are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games.
- Over is 4-1 in Clippers last 5 vs. Western Conference.
- Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
Analysis: All signs are pointing to a Grizzlies cover in this contest and I believe they’ll get it pro basketball betting members.
Not only has Memphis gone a stellar 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games, but this ballclub wants to extract some serious revenge for losing to the Clippers 113-110 in L.A. on Nov. 7.
The Clippers are hurting without explosive second-year shooting guard Eric Gordon, the team’s second-leading scorer. Apparently they just roll over for losing teams as they’ve gone a dismal 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing SU record.
No matter what you think about the Grizzlies, they do have three players that can put the ball in the hole consistently in Mayo, Gay and enigmatic power forward Zach Randolph.
I also think the Over is an excellent play for this matchup as it has gone an identical 4-1 in L.A.’s last five games against Western Conference opponents and 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams.
