NBA Betting – Struggling Jazz at Lowly Knicks

Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

The Utah Jazz (2-4 SU, 2-4 ATS, 4-2 O/U) haven’t looked very impressive this season and that couldn’t have been more evident than on Saturday night when they were beat by the lowly Sacramento Kings. The good thing for the Jazz is that they still don’t look as bad as the totally inept New York Knicks (1-6 SU, 1-6 ATS, 4-3 O/U), losers of three straight coming into tonight’s contest against the Jazz.

The Jazz got behind early and never caught up in their 104-99 loss to the Kings as they failed to cover the NBA point spread as whopping 15.5-point home favorites. Utah got a spectacular double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds from point guard Deron Williams in the loss.

The Knicks lost to the Houston Rockets on Saturday 102-87, failing to cover the NBA point spread as a 4-point underdog. David Lee had a double-double with 18 points with seven rebounds in the loss.

Here is a look at the key trends and NBA Betting Odds for tonight’s contest, followed by my in-depth analysis and expert NBA Picks.

  • Jazz are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road favorite.
  • Jazz are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss.
  • Knicks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Western Conference.
  • Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.
  • Road team is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings.
  • Underdog is 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings.

Analysis: Saturday’s loss to the young Sacramento Kings showed that the Jazz are a big question mark on any given night. Lately, their backers have been getting killed by the Knicks as the Jazz have gone an absolutely pitiful 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in New York and 0-9 ATS in the last nine meetings against the Knicks overall. Yikes.

But once and a while, you need to go with your gut. That’s why I like the Jazz to bounce back from their horrific home loss to Sacramento by handing New York Knicks their fourth straight SU and ATS loss in this contest.

The Jazz have gone an impressive 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a road favorite and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss.

While New York has gone an impressive 4-0 ATS in their last four games against Western Conference ballclubs and the underdog in this series has gone a blistering 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings, the Knicks have also gone a dismal 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.

The good news for the Jazz is the fact that the road team in this series has gone a scorching 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings.

Despite their poor play this season, both straight up and against the spread, the Jazz are to talented to keep playing this way. A Knicks team that has dropped its last three games by an average of 12.0 points per contest is just what the doctor ordered.
