NBA Basketball Betting Playoff Picks – San Antonio in Dire Straits

The Spurs were one uncalled foul, or one Brent Barry three-pointer, away from tying this sports betting series. Now they find themselves in the worst possible situation: down in a series deciding game as road dogs against the Lakers. All the Spurs online betting faithful care about is whether or not they cover the spread. The Spurs, however, simply need a win.
San Antonio Spurs (56-26) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (57-25)

The eight point basketball betting spread hasn’t moved an inch all day, which means that we’re getting even sports betting action on both sides. What does that mean? I’m not sure exactly. It generally means that the online basketball betting community is split on their opinions on whether or not the Spurs are going to phone in this game, or whether the Lakers will demolish them at home.
Tim Duncan and company have had trouble covering on the road, going 2-4 ATS in their last 6 battles with the Lakers. They drew close in Game 4, but failed to gain a lead while the Lakers failed to make any critical mistakes. The Lakers are 4-1 SU when playing San Antonio at home, and are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games in the STAPLES center.
I know I’ve said this is an UNDER series, but tonight’s game is going to blast the OVER. The Spurs can fully put up points, and despite the fact that Sasha Vujacic has been phenomenal in guarding Manu, there’s no way they can contain the acrobatic Argentinean. Duncan’s production has been steady and beastly, despite Pau Gasol’s best efforts to shut him down.
This sports betting spread simply seems too large to bet safely against with the Lakers. I honestly believe the Spurs will win, but if you’re queasy about that pick, at least take them with the points in the OVER.
