NBA Wagering: New Jersey (+4) vs. Portland (-4)

The Blazers are actually a much better than I thought. They’ve gone a pretty impressive 6 and 5 against the spread in their 11 games this year. Although that’s just over 50 % what NBA bettors have to remember is that we’re talking about an 82 game schedule here. If the Blazers can maintain that, or even improve on it, then for NBA bettors cha-ching, cha-ching becomes the word of the day!

The New Jersey Nets haven’t exactly lit things up so far this year when it comes to their against the spread record. So far, they are 3-7-1 against the spread this year. Yes, the season is early, but when a team is only 3-7 against the spread in ten games, it’s never too early to start worrying.

You’ve got the crunch the numbers fast in the NBA because spreads are displayed late at night or early in the morning. That means that you have to really look at trends and think hard about them.

The New Jersey Nets are 5 and 12 against the spread in their last 17 games versus the NBA Northwest.

That’s it. That’s the only trend that we need to know, friends. The Nets are terrible versus the NBA Northwest and the Blazers are a much better team than advertised.

That means that the Blazers have an easy road tonight versus the Nets, right?

Yes, because Vince Carter, for the Nets, is questionable and Jarret Jacks, the point-guard for the Trailblazers, is actually good enough to stick with Jason Kidd.

Kidd has never been a big time scorer and without Carter in the line-up, the Nets will need Kidd to score if they want to keep this thing close.

The young Blazers are a much improved team from last year. LaMarcus Aldridge is getting better and better for the Blazers and Brandon Roy is as solid as an NBA player defensive-minded player can get.

The BetUS basketball betting line is Portland Trailblazers – 4 against the spread and at home versus the New Jersey Nets.

I like the Blazers to cover in this game.
