NBA Preseason Betting Action – Denver Nuggets at L.A. Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers (4-3), lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 87-75 in the BetUS Sportsbook on Wednesday night as all-star shooting guard Brandon Roy scored 17 points and rookie center Greg Oden added 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Forward Al Thornton scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Clippers with veteran Steve Novak adding nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from 3-point range. Incredibly, all 29 of Novak’s preseason field goal attempts have been from long distance – and he has nailed almost 50 percent, making 14 of them.
The Clippers went 6 minutes, 25 seconds between field goals in the first half, missing nine straight shots at one point and committing six turnovers during a 10-0 Portland run.
The Clippers played without veteran forward Ricky Davis and injured starting point guard Baron Davis. Starting center Marcus Camby and veteran forward Tim Thomas were also sidelined with injuries.
Carmelo Anthony scored 15 points, and the Denver Nuggets, (5-1) beat the Toronto Raptors 105-94 in the first NBA game played in the Alberta capital in nine years.
The last time the NBA played in Edmonton, the Raptors defeated the then-Vancouver –and now Memphis - Grizzlies 110-84 in 1999.
The Nuggets, playing without starting point guard Anthony Carter (given the night off) and guard Allen Iverson (right ankle sprain) took advantage of Raptors’ forward Jermaine O'Neal's absence to shred the Toronto’s second-team defense.

Analysis: While I think the Nuggets are going to have some troubles in the powerful Western Conference this season, I like them to beat the Clippers in this matchup as they get set for their regular season opener in the BetUS Sportsbook next week.
