NBA Odds - Struggling Sixers Look to Keep Stunned Lakers in Check
by Eric Williams

The Los Angeles Lakers (14-2 SU, 9-6 ATS, 9-6 O/U) had their seven-game winning streak in the BetUS Sportsbook, emphatically snapped in their last contest.
The Philadelphia 76ers (8-10 SU, 7-10 ATS, 5-10-2 O/U) halted a four-game losing streak of their own by spanking the Chicago Bulls in overtime on Tuesday.
Tonight, both clubs will be looking to pick up a victory for fans and NBA sports betting buffs when they battle at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
The Lakers were shocked by the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, losing 118-117 while failing to cover the spread as 8-point road favorites. Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 28 points and seven boards while Pau Gasol added 20 points and nine rebounds, but L.A. gave up 32 points to blossoming Pacers forward Danny Granger and 16 points and 17 rebounds to veteran Troy Murphy who scored the game-winner on a put-back as time expired.
"There was some luck involved, but that's the way basketball is if you don't take care of business," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson. "They got some energy going to the hoop and the right thing happened for them."
The Sixers beat the Chicago Bulls 103-95 in overtime on Tuesday to cover the spread as 3-point road underdogs, thanks to 28 points from veteran point guard Andre Miller. Shooting guard Andre Iguoadala added 25 points while veteran Elton Brand added 22 points and 14 rebounds.
"I thought our defensive game was really good," coach Maurice Cheeks told the 76ers' official Web site. "And we continued to push the ball throughout the game. That's our game."

Analysis: I like the Los Angeles Lakers to cover the spread in this contest by routing the Sixers despite being on the road. The fact of the matter is that Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is probably furious for letting Tuesday’s game against the Pacers get away and will take control of tonight’s matchup right from the start as he always like to do well playing in his hometown of Philadelphia.
