NBA Championship Rematch Celtics vs Lakers

The Boston Celtics have won 19 games in a row. That’s an incredible streak that sports betting fans have to appreciate. If Boston can beat the Lakers on Christmas Day, then the streak will be twenty. But here’s the thing - - even though straight-up Boston is pretty much a sure thing, against the BetUS online betting spread this season they haven’t always been a sure thing. Their record against the BetUS online wagering spread isn’t bad at 17 and 12 but it’s not any better than some of the other teams in the NBA like the Orlando Magic and it’s definitely not close to the 22 and 6 against the BetUS online sportsbook betting spread that the Cleveland Cavaliers boast. To me, that means that the Celtics can be a good team for straight-up betting but a bad team for against the spread betting. Online NBA betting fans just never know when the Celtics are going to cover or when they aren’t.
That same issue hasn’t occurred with the Lakers. Los Angeles started out the season on fire, but since then they’ve come back down to earth both straight-up and against the BetUS online wagering spread. Straight-up, the Lakers are 23 and 5, which is still a very good record, against the spread the Lakers are 12 and 16. But Los Angeles is coming off of a very good 13 point victory on the road against the New Orleans Hornets. Of course, that means that L.A. could bounce off of that effort in this game against the Celtics.
Here are my personal online betting odds for this game.
Boston Celtics - 2 ½ - 110 - 145 O 189 ½ - 110
Los Angeles Lakers + 2 ½ - 110 + 125 U 189 ½ - 110
Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.
The Boston Celtics are 8 and 1 against the spread in their last 9 games against an opponent from the Western Conference.
The Boston Celtics are 8 and 0 against the spread the last time these two teams have met.
The Los Angeles Lakers are 4 and 17 against the spread in their last 21 games versus an opponent from the Eastern Conference.
The Los Angeles Lakers are 3 and 8 against the spread in their last 11 games versus an opponent from the NBA Atlantic Division.
Even though this looks like a huge game because it’s the Celtics and the Lakers, the truth is that this game really isn’t all that important. The Lakers won their important game of the week by taking down conference rival New Orleans on Tuesday night.
I’m not saying that the Lakers won’t try in this game. I’m just saying that they understand that this is an inter-conference game while the game against New Orleans no doubt would have had an affect on them later down the road.
The Lakers are coming off of a four game trip. There’s no way that they go into this Dec. 25th game with guns blazing ready to take down the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are just too good as it is.
I see the Celtics covering against the BetUS online betting spread. I know I’ve listed 2 ½ points as my cut-off but I believe the Celtics could probably cover all the way up to 5 points.
