(RANK) (TEAM) (SU RECORD) (O/U RECORD) (O/U RECORD L/5 +$$)

1) Washington Wizards (7-26) (13-19 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): It makes perfect sense to see the Wizards at the top of this NBA sports betting list this week considering they boast the 28th ranked offensive attack in the league that’s averaged just 93.8 PPG throughout its first 33 games of the year. In its last five games, the Wizards managed to score 89, 85, 83, 80, and 80 points to pull out a 2-3 SU and 4-1 ATS mark overall. Even though the offense failed them, the defense played eight points better than its seasonal average (100.4 PPG) to allow NBA bettors to actually make some scratch off of them. Expect to see more posted ‘totals’ from the mid to upper 180’s and low 190’s with games scheduled against Toronto, Chicago, and Charlotte this week.

2) New Jersey Nets (17-18) (17-18 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): After cashing ‘over’ bettors tickets in four of their five games played from December 20th to December 27th, the ‘under’ played a prominent role in the Nets L/5 games by cashing in four of those games. The offense just lost its way during that stretch combining to average just 89.8 PPG which is close to 10 points of the pace of their to date seasonal average (99.3 PPG). To make matters worse for the offense, G Devin Harris is back on the pine with an injured hamstring forcing HC Frank to look elsewhere for the team leading 23.1 PPG he averages. This leaves a heavier load for Vince Carter and company who’ve managed SU wins in just four of their L/10 overall games. They’ll want him back in the line-up as soon as possible with winnable home games against Memphis and Oklahoma City scheduled this week.

3) New York Knicks (13-20) (14-19 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): Things just haven’t gone as originally planned with Mike D’Antoni coming over from the desert to install his frenzied offensive attack in the “Big Apple.” With the Knicks boasting the 4th ranked offensive attack that averages just under 104 PPG and the league’s 28th ranked defense allowing opponents to tickle the twine for an average 107+ PPG, you’d expect the ‘over’ to have made a killing in Knicks games this season. Unfortunately, quite the opposite has rung true as the ‘under’ has been a profitable investment in NY Knicks games this NBA betting season. NY’s highest point total last week came against Denver where they scored 110, and it was the only of their five games to go over the closing ‘total’. With games against defensive minded teams Dallas, Houston, and New Orleans scheduled for this week, look for the under to continue to have some value depending on how much of an adjustment the oddsmakers make.

4) Memphis Grizzlies (11-24) (18-16 O/U) (1-4 O/U L/5 +$290): The Grizz have made ‘over’ backers a couple of units this season, but not last week where four of their five games failed to surpass the closing ‘total’. It was a real tough week for Memphis who won just one of their four games and actually dropped a pair of games both SU and ATS to the Minnesota Timberwolves. They were competitive though scoring an average of 91.2 points in those five games while surrendering just 95.2 points with the average margin of defeat being just four points. Look for them to continue to be competitive this week with games scheduled against the NJ Nets and Toronto Raptors. Both of those clubs have injuries to their offensive weapons, so the ‘under’ should continue to pay-off to close out the week.
