NBA Betting Futures – Can Celtics Repeat?
by BetUS Staff

The Boston Celtics made a splash last summer when they miraculously landed Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. KG proved to be worth every dime they paid to acquire his massive contract. The Celtics were the best defensive squad in the Eastern Conference with only 90.2 points allowed per game. That was only 0.1 points better than the Detroit Pistons, who have been the mainstay at the top of the defensive standings for years.
Ray Allen, meanwhile, was a bit of a disappointment during the regular season, but came through in the Finals with daggers from beyond the arc. Ray Allen will return and must pick up the slack this coming season during the regular season, especially considering James Posey is in New Orleans.
The good news is that the Celtics will return the nucleus that brought them to the top of the NBA mountain. NBA Finals MVP Paul Pierce returns after getting proverbial monkey off his back last season, and undoubtedly stepped up his game in the post season. He battled LeBron James and dropped 41 points against the King.
So the talent is unquestionable. The resilience is undeniable. The question is: Can they repeat?
In the BetUS.com sportsbook futures, the Celtics lead the NBA as a +300 favorite to win the championship. Considering that most of the team returns this season should be enough to give the Celtics betting faithful reason to buy in to their chances this year.
Rajon “Raging” Rondo posted 10.6 points and 5.1 assists last year, elevating his game to levels previously thought undoable by him. The fact that Rajon performed at such a fearless level should also fortify your beliefs that the Celtics can repeat. The fact that they are +110 favorites to win the Eastern Conference should show you the kind of faith the oddsmakers have in backing the Celtics’ emerging dynasty.
The Pistons stand as their main threat, with Orlando and Cleveland not too far behind. Detroit’s dominant team play is the reason you should support them at +300, but their decreasing ability to play under pressure is a reason that you should stay away.
As much as I like LeBron James to carry the Cleveland Cavaliers past their horrific 37-45 ATS record, I find it difficult to encourage the betting community to support them. However, as good as Mo Williams is, he is not the “Robin” to LeBron’s “Batman”. In fact, considering how distracted LeBron is with his efforts for financial domination, the Cavs might be the ones that suffer the most with his refusal to add to his game every summer like Kobe does.
So there we have it. As brief as you may find this article to be, it’s hard to defuse its main premise. The Celtics are on a whole different plane of existence than the rest of the Eastern Conference. It’s nice to think that young, upstart teams like Toronto or Orlando could have a chance, but the Celtics are the cream of the crop.
Not only will they reward your investments in our NBA futures, they’ll pay you big dividends throughout the regular season. Last season, they went 52-28-2 ATS. Reap the rewards this NBA betting season as they defend their crown…successfully. They’ve tasted blood once, don’t be foolish enough to be against them thirsting for more.
On a side note, I’m just as sick of the thriving Boston sports scene as the next guy. You might as well make some money off of it to ease the pain!
