NBA Basketball Wagering – Possible NBA Finals Preview Pistons at Suns

The Phoenix Suns, (47-22 SU, 33-33-3 ATS, 39-30 O/U), come into tonight’s contest matchup against the Detroit Pistons, (49-19 SU, 37-30-1 ATS, 32-35-1 O/U) riding a season-high seven-game winning streak, that has come mostly at the expense of some of the most mediocre teams in the western conference, though they did beat a legitimate western conference title contender in their last contest, spanking the Houston Rockets 122-113 on Saturday.

The Pistons, who will likely provide a solid test for the Suns, come into tonight’s showdown riding a two-game losing streak in the BetUS.com Sportsbook after falling to eastern conference rivals, the Cleveland Cavaliers 89-73 on Wednesday and the Washington Wizards, 95-83 on Sunday, but have won three straight and 13 of their last 15 games at home.

Despite their winning ways, Suns head coach Mike D’Antoni says his team still has plenty of work to do after acquiring behemoth center Shaquille O’Neal nearly one month ago.

"I just don't want us to get ahead of ourselves," Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni said. "Two weeks ago, we weren't going to make the playoffs, according to a lot of people, and today we'll probably never lose again, and neither one of them is true - we're right in the middle. We're still working and have got some things to do."

Despite their recent struggles, the Pistons are securely in second place in the eastern conference and say they are more concerned about fine-tuning their team heading into the postseason than winning games, although the latter is still a priority.

"With the position that we're in, we have the luxury of trying to work on some things," guard Chauncey Billups said. "We're not moving up or down or trying to go nowhere. We just have to stay healthy and try to work on some things that could benefit us in some series."

The Suns have won eight of their last ten games while going 7-2-1 against the spread over the same span while the Pistons have gone a miserable 3-7 against the spread in their last ten.

Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Picks.

The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest.

The Pistons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference.

The Pistons are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

The Over is 5-1 in Suns last 6 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

The Under is 11-1 in Pistonslast 12 games playing on 0 days rest.

The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

The Road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

The Suns are 1-8 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

Analysis: While the Pistons have struggled immensely in their last two games, this team usually rises to the occasion when taking on an elite team, particularly at home. Take the Pistons to barely cover the spread.
