NBA Betting Insider - Best and Worst Teams ATS

With the 2009-10 NBA regular season moving into its fifth week, this look at the hottest – and coldest – ATS teams in the league will help you with all of your upcoming weekly selections in the BetUS NBA Sportsbook.
While some of the teams on this weekly ‘Hot and Not’ list are no-brainers, several other ballclubs making both lists may surprise avid NBA betus bettors. Either way, this look at the best and worst ATS teams in the league over their last five games will help put NBA gamblers on the right path toward making a plethora of bankroll-boosting pro hoops wagers all week long.
With tip-off times for many of tonight’s games just hours away, let’s get started.
Hot
Golden State 5-0 ATS
The Warriors have gone just 2-3 SU over their last five but snapped a three-game losing streak by upsetting the Portland Trail Blazers 108-94 on Friday. The high-scoring Warriors have also gone a league-best 5-0 against the spread (ATS) during the span and have cashed in for devoted NBA pro basketball betting enthusiasts in six of their last seven games overall.
Golden State has a treacherous upcoming five-game schedule, featuring games at Dallas, San Antonio and Denver with home dates against the Lakers and Pacers on the docket as well.
Orlando 4-1 ATS
The Magic are heating up hoops heads, winning five straight games and cover the NBA point spread in four of those contests, including their 83-78 victory over Boston on Friday that I predicted in the NBA locker room.
Expect the Magic to stay hot over the next five games with home games against Miami and New York, along with road dates against Atlanta, Milwaukee and the Knicks.
Dallas 4-1 ATS
I’ve been very impressed with the revamped Mavericks this season and I suspect they’re going to get much better as the regular season rolls along. Dallas has won five consecutive games, covering the spread in four straight before having their ATS winning streak snapped on Friday night against another red-hot ATS team (Sacramento).
The Mavs host Golden State and Philadelphia over its next five games with road dates against Houston, Indiana and Cleveland also on the schedule.
New Orleans 4-1 ATS
I ripped the Hornets for firing Byron Scott, but they’ve played pretty well under Gm-turned-head-coach Jeff Bower, going 3-2 over their last five while hitting pay dirt in four of those contests.
The Hornets host Milwaukee, Minnesota and Sacramento over their next five games with
Road games at Sacramento and the L.A. Lakers mixed in.
Sacramento 4-1 ATS
The Kings snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday, beating the Memphis Grizzlies 127-116 to cover the spread for the fourth time in five games despite going just 2-3 during the span.
Veteran head coach Paul Westphal has done a masterful job with the teams so far and the Kings have a good opportunity to pick up some more wins over their next five games with four consecutive home games against new York, new Jersey, New Orleans and Indiana, followed by a road contest at Phoenix.
Utah 4-1 ATS
The Jazz look like they’re starting to come around following a rough start this season. Jerry Sloan’s crew has won three straight and four of five while covering the spread for NBA bettors on fur straight before having their ATS winning streak snapped against the Pistons on Saturday,
Utah has five consecutive home games on the schedule, with Oklahoma City, Chicago, Portland, Memphis and Indiana all visiting Sal Lake City.
Not
These teams are struggling to cover the spread at a high rate over their last five games heading into Week 5 and look like strong possibilities to continue failing to cover their respective NBA point spread in their upcoming ballgames.
Minnesota 0-5 ATS, 0-12 SU
The Timberwolves are mired in an absolutely horrible free-fall, dropping 12 straight games since winning their season opener over the winless new Jersey Nets while failing to cover the spread in eight consecutive games. Betting against the T-Wolves looks like a near-lock every time out at this point NBA gamblers.
The T-Wolves are on the road against the Clippers and Nuggets over their next five games with home matchups against Denver, Phoenix and Memphis also on the schedule.
Miami 0-5 ATS, 2-3 SU
The Heat are struggling in a big way heading into Week 5, having gone an unimpressive 2-3 SU while failing to cover the spread for pro basketball betting enthusiasts in a whopping six consecutive games.
Miami hosts Orlando, Portland and Denver over their next five contests with home matchups against Washington and Boston also on the schedule.
Boston 0-5 ATS, 2-3 SU
The Celtics may be sitting atop the Atlantic Division with a stellar 10-4 SU record, but they are absolutely reeling heading in the season’s fifth week. Boston has gone 2-3 SU over its last five games while going 0-5 ATS and struggled to beat the lowly Knicks on Sunday.
If the NBA point spread looks a bit too high in any of Boston’s upcoming contests this week, pro basketball betting members may want to consider wagering against the C’s.
The Celtics host Philadelphia and Toronto, followed by road games at Miami, Charlotte and San Antonio.
Cleveland 1-4 ATS, 4-1 SU
Sure the Cavaliers have gone an impressive 4-1 SU over its last five, but LeBron James is just about back to being a one-man wrecking crew with Cleveland going a dismal 1-4 against the spread over its last five, getting consistent help only from point guard Mo Williams these days. By the way, that Shaquille O’Neal trade doesn’t look too good at the moment.
The Cavaliers hit the road to take on Detroit and Charlotte, followed by home games against Dallas, Phoenix and Chicago.
Washington 1-4 ATS 1-8 SU
The Wizards have gone a dismal 1-8 SU and ATS over their last nine games and things have gotten so bad for the Wizards lately that combo guard Gilbert Arenas is talking about his teammates being selfish. Now, that’s saying something.
The Wizards host Philadelphia, Charlotte and Milwaukee with road dates against Miami and Toronto also on the docket.
Chicago 1-4 ATS, 2-3 SU
The Bulls have gone just 2-3 SU over its last five games and has taken a step backwards from the competitive ballclub that pushed the Boston Celtics to five games in the first round of last season’s playoffs.
The Bulls have road games at Portland, Utah, Milwaukee and Cleveland coming up along with a home date against the Pistons.
New Jersey 1-4 ATS, 0-13 SU
The Nets are off to one of the worst starts in league history by dropping going a pitiful 0-13 to start the season despite having a nice core of young players. New Jersey however, has gone an impressive 4-4 ATS over its last eight.
The Nets have four consecutive road games against the Nuggets, Blazers, Kings and Lakers, followed by a home matchup against the Mavericks.
