Marbury to Sign with the Boston Celtics
by Ian James

The Boston Celtics are about to add one of the more talented, yet troubled point guards in the NBA as Stephon Marbury has openly stated he’s signing with the defending champs. The New York Times broke the news that he plans to suit up as early as Friday night when the Celtics take on the Indiana Pacers in Boston.
The upside is obvious as Marbury is as talented a point guard as any in the NBA. His baggage is what has kept him off the court this entire season but if there was a locker room suited to keep a guy like Marbury in check, its Boston’s. With KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce all policing the team chemistry, Marbury won’t have a chance to screw up a good thing.
It will be interesting to see how the dynamics work out as Rajon Rondo has had himself a breakout year and has the team running on all cylinders. Marbury will be coming off the bench, something he is not used but when asked about his role with the team his response was “I’ll just let my game speak for itself”. He has something to prove, especially if he wants a contract for next season and will be on his best behavior coming down the stretch.
This will no doubt affect NBA championship futures as the Celtics will be adding a piece that is bigger than any of the trade deadline moves made by the Cavaliers or Lakers. Get to the BetUS sportsbook before the news becomes “official” and lay down a bet on the current line, as this makes an already stacked Celtics team that much deeper and a lock to go deep into the post season.
