Kyle Busch finished out of the Top-Ten for the first time in a long time this past weekend at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. Busch ended up 15th which isn’t too bad but also isn’t close to what he had been doing this season.

For online NASCAR betting fans, I wouldn’t put too much stock into Kyle’s 15th place finish. He’s still the best driver in NASCAR odds betting right now and should bounce back in a big way this weekend in the Pennsylvania 500.

The online odds on Kyle to win the Pennsylvania 500 are + 550. The online wagering odds are actually much better than I thought they would be. That doesn’t mean that Kyle deserves win wagering consideration. Even though the online odds are better than I thought they would be, they are still way below what I would expect to get on a NASCAR driver in this race.

Kurt Busch, Kyle’s older brother, won the Pennsylvania 500 last year. Could he be the Busch that makes a run in this year’s Pennsylvania 500? Maybe. The sports betting odds on Kurt Busch are + 4000. Kurt Busch hasn’t been consistent this year. Yes, he did finish second in the Daytona 500 and won the LENOX Industrial Tools 300, but other then that, he’s floundered out there on the track. It would take a miracle for him to turn it around this weekend. I’m going to have to pass on making an online bet on Kurt Busch as well.

That leaves me with the Hendrick boys, right? At this point every BetUS NASCAR reader probably knows how I feel about Jr’s driving skills. Dale Jr.’s online betting odds are + 1200. To me, as always, Jr. is a terrible underlay. I can’t recommend at those BetUS online betting odds.

But, the other two drivers for Hendrick, a couple of guys named Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon respectively, do deserve mentioning. They, along with my top pick, compromise my top three online wagering interests in the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500.

Top-Three Online Wagering Interests in the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500

1. Carl Edwards - - online odds + 700 - - He’s one of the favorites and he should be. He finished second to Jimmie Johnson last weekend in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard and there’s no doubt that he could really make his presence felt in this race. Edwards hasn’t won a race in a while. He’s due. Too good of a driver and too good of a crew for the drought to keep going

2. Jeff Gordon - - online odds + 1200 - - Of course, the same could be said for Jeff Gordon, right? Gordo has been knocking on the door by finishing in the Top-Ten with regularity this season. This is Jeff Gordon. I sound like a broken record but one of these weekends he’s going to really help out a lonely online NASCAR bettor make some serious money!

3. Jimmie Johnson - - online odds + 600 - - Jimmie has the lowest odds out of my top three. That makes him sort of an underlay, but its okay. Jimmie could put together two wins in a row, he’s done it before, and, as I’ve been writing - - haven’t we seen this the past two seasons? Jimmie does okay at the beginning of the NASCAR season then takes over towards the end. This is looking eerily familiar to what happened in 2007.

Good Luck!
