NASCAR:  Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 To Win

Race-day:  3/29/2009
Race-time:  1:30 pm est.

Lately, it’s been all about the Busch brothers.  Kurt and Kyle Busch have won the last two races in the Sprint Cup Championship series

Kyle is ranked number one in the NASCAR Power Rankings and is one of the favorites to win his second race in a row in the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 this Sunday in Martinsville, Virginia.

Let’s analyze the best drivers in the NASCAR Sportsbook to take down the checkered flag at Martinsville.

NASCAR:  Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 To Win

  1. Jimmie Johnson +400 - - Johnson finished second to Kyle Busch last Sunday in Bristol and will be looking to turn the tables on that rival in this race.  Johnson won a race at this track in 2008, so he knows what he’s doing.  Could he win this week?  The champ’s going to have to start to pick it up eventually.  Maybe this Sunday is the day he does that.
  1. Kyle Busch +500 - - The odds on Busch to win are slightly better for gamblers than Johnson, but Busch will be trying to win his third Sprint Cup race out of the last four.  That’s tough to do.  He will likely lead a bunch of laps in this thing before Johnson overtakes him late.
  1. Denny Hamlin +500 - - Hamlin had a victory at the Martinsville Speedway in 2008 which means he likes the track.  Not only that, but Denny finished in the top three last week in the Food City 500.  He could turn that terrific finish into a victory in the Goody’s Fast Relief 500.
  1. Jeff Gordon +400 - - It’s only a matter of time before Gordon notches his first victory of the season.  It could happen this Sunday because Jeff has gotten oh so close recently when finishing 4th in the Food City and second on March 8th in the Kobalt Tools 500.
  1. Carl Edwards +1200 - - Edwards had a disappointing Food City last Sunday but might turn things around in the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief because he’s too good of a driver, and Roush Racing is too good of an outfit, for Edwards to continue to have such a terrible year.
  1. Kurt Busch +1000 - - Kurt didn’t do as well as younger brother Kyle did in the Food City, but he won the Kobalt Tools 500 on March 8th and is driving well enough for win consideration at 10 to 1 odds in the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief.

Best Long Shots

  • Clint Bowyer +2000 - - Bowyer’s got to break through with a victory eventually.  He’s been a consistent top ten to top twenty guy in almost every race this season.
  • Matt Kenseth +3500 - - Kenseth has been very quiet since putting back to back victories together in the Daytona 500 and the Auto Club 500.  At odds of 35 to 1, I’m willing to wager that he bounces back in the Goody’s Fast Relief 500.
  • Juan Pablo Montoya +5000 - - He finished 9th in the Food City.  That in itself means that the 50 to 1 odds are ridiculous and gamblers should consider a wager on him because he’s an overlay in the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief.
