NASCAR Six Pack - Pep Boys Auto 500
by Corey E

Isn’t this a familiar scene—as the NASCAR Chase for the Cup winds down, Jimmie Johnson starts to heat up. However, even if Jimmie is on his way to yet another Cup championship, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty of NASCAR betting value across the board this weekend. Let’s take a look at the six drivers you need on your BetUS ticket for the Pep Boys Auto 500!
You thought that segway meant not to pick Jimmie this week, didn’t you? That would just be foolish, as No. 48 has the best track average of all active drivers at Atlanta, and has compiled three career victories here as well.
Carl Edwards
“Concrete Carl” will be right at home on the concrete track of Atlanta, and he’s been brilliant on mile-and-a-half tracks this season as well. Atlanta is a good fit for Edwards—in fact, he nearly won here earlier this season if it weren’t for car troubles. Look for him to be at the front of the pack all day long!
Clint Bowyer
Clint has finished sixth in his last three races at Atlanta, and will need to race incredibly hard this weekend if he has any hope of a championship. Bowyer’s worst finish at Atlanta is 27th, so expect at least a Top 20 out of him.
A bit of an underdog here, as Atlanta is known for shooting cars up the track, and Earnhardt likes to race up high on the track. It could be a dangerous combination, or it could work out famously for No. 88. A long-shot bet on a talented racer like Junior is never a bad decision.
Tony Stewart
Tony seems to be a contender every time NASCAR comes to Atlanta, with two runner-ups in his past four starts here. Like Earnhardt, Stewart needs to be careful and avoid a wreck on a sensitive track like Atlanta. Now that he has the first win out of the way, can he build on that momentum?
Gordon’s advantage is that he has Jimmie Johnson as a teammate, and if he can trail him, he will most assuredly be near the front of the pack. However, Gordon’s average finish of 11th at Atlanta is second among active drivers, so he’s no slouch at Atlanta either. Take a chance on Jeff, even based on who his teammate is!
