NASCAR Betting Propositions for the Camping World RV 400

by D.S. Williamson

Just when online NASCAR betting fans thought Kyle Busch had the Sprint Cup in his sights, things have begun to fall apart. Kyle, who dominated the regular season of NASCAR racing, dropped to eighth in the Chase by finishing in 34th place last week.

Who is in the lead now? Both Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards are tied for first place. Johnson has won the Cup two years in a row. His online betting prowess is well known. Edwards has had an excellent year and his crew is clicking on all cylinders.

It’s going to take Kyle some work to get back into the hunt, but he can do it.

Let’s get to this Sunday’s race!

Race-time: 9/21/2008 1:00 pm est.

Best Online Wagering Propositions for the Camping World RV 400

1. Jimmie Johnson - - online betting odds + 500 - - Johnson is the best. I’d put him lower on this list because of his incredibly underlaid online wagering odds but he’s still going off at higher odds than Kyle Busch. Nobody is doing an overall better job in the Chase right now than Johnson’s crew. Three Cups in a row is not out of the question.

2. Carl Edwards - - online betting odds + 450 - - Edwards won this race last year when it was called the Dodge Dealers 400. He could easily win it again this year. Again, the online betting odds are very low, but the top two guys in the Chase deserve consideration from online NASCAR betting fans. Edwards is on the cusp of greatness.

3. Kyle Busch - - online betting odds + 400 - - Another underlaid driver that I can’t leave out of the top three. Busch is good enough to bounce back. The problem won’t be the physical limitations on his car. It will be his ability to bounce back mentally. That’s going to be the issue. I love Kyle to return to form in this Sunday’s race. So does the BetUS online sportsbook as they have instituted him as the morning line chalk.

4. Jeff Burton - - online betting odds + 2500 - - Burton is currently fifth in the standings. He’s not totally out of the Chase just yet. He’ll need some luck but look at the online wagering odds on Burton compared to the top three? NASCAR betting fans can’t help but look his way in this.

5. Martin Truex Jr. - - online betting odds + 2000 - - Who won the other race last year at Dover? The one before Edwards took the checkered flag last September? Martin Truex Jr. Truex Jr. could surprise again at this track at overlaid online wagering odds. I believe he has a legitimate shot. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it’s been a strange, down year for the guy. We shall see.

6. Denny Hamlin - - online betting odds + 1400 - - This is a shot in the dark. Make no mistake, there is very little evidence that Hamlin will pull off an upset victory this Sunday in the Camping World RV 400, but sometimes I’m looking at the BetUS Sportsbook online betting odds board and I get the feeling that a particular driver might do well. Such is the case with Hamlin who sits at sixth in the overall Chase standings.

Good Luck!
