NASCAR Betting Picks - LifeLock 400 Top 3

NASCAR heads to the Michigan International Speedway for the LifeLock 400 with Tony “Smoke” Stewart leading in the Sprint Cup Chase.
Stewart has been exceptional lately finishing in the top ten and top five with regularity, winning the all-star race and then taking home his first trophy as an owner last week in the Pocono 500.
The driver he beat at Pocono, Carl Edwards, figures to put up a great effort at Michigan on Sunday.
Let’s take a look at some of the drivers, and their odds to finish in the Top 3 at Michigan International Speedway in the LifeLock 400.
NASCAR: LifeLock 400 Top 3
1. Tony Stewart +300 - - Tony has only 1 victory to his credit at Michigan but he does have 9 top 5s and an average finish of 12.4. Because he’s been so good lately, and figures to get better, Stewart has a big shot at almost double the odds of Carl Edwards to get into the Top 3 at Michigan.
2. Carl Edwards +180 - - Edwards’s second place finish at Pocono was a stellar race. He has two victories at Michigan, 5 top 5s and an average finish of 6.6. The average finish of 6.6 is the best out of the top drivers in NASCAR.
3. Jimmie Johnson +150 - - Jimmie is still in the top five in the Sprint Cup point standings but when it comes to Michigan, he hasn’t had a lot of success. He has no victories and only 2 top 5s. His average finish of 14.4 isn’t going to get it done either, but this is Jimmie Johnson and that means he always has a shot.
4. Jeff Gordon +225 - - 2 victories at Michigan means that Jeff can handle himself on the racetrack. The 15 top 5s and an average finish of 11.8 means that Jeff rarely embarrasses himself on the racetrack. The Nascar odds are good and Gordon did finish 4th at Pocono last week.
5. Kyle Busch +180 - - Like Johnson, Busch has had little success at Michigan. He has only 1 top 5 to his credit and his average finish is 17.4. Busch is ranked 9th in the Sprint Cup Standings. Can he turn it around this week? Maybe. Things haven’t been going well for Team Gibbs lately.
6. Mark Martin +350 - - The odds are terrific on Hendrick’s other driver. Martin’s 16 top 5s at Michigan is excellent. His 4 victories are pretty good too. Throw in an average finish of 13.1 and suddenly Martin becomes a viable bet in the BetUS online sportsbook for a top 3 because he’s been better in 2009 than he has in years.
Best Long Shot
Ryan Newman +500 - - Sure, Newman hasn’t bee overly successful at Michigan with an average finish of 18.6, but his 4 top 5s and 2 victories is better than both Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson. A top 3 finish could happen as Newman finished 5th at Pocono last week and is in 4th place in the Sprint Cup Standing.
