NASCAR Betting - Food City 500 Top Three

Trying to find the winner of a NASCAR race used to be easy. Last season, all bettors had to do was log onto the sportsbook, look up NASCAR, and check out the NASCAR odds on Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards.
Busch and Edwards dominated NASCAR last year. This year things have been much tougher for gamblers. Kyle Busch has won a race, but Edwards has not. More importantly, the names of the other race winners have been Kurt Busch and Matt Kenseth. Jeff Gordon won one of the Gatorade Duels but that doesn’t really count. Where are Jimmie, Tony, Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr.?
Because it can be daunting for bettors to find the winner of a NASCAR race, being able to bet for the Top Three, a wager the sportsbook offers, is a true blessing.
Let’s analyze the chances of some of the drivers to finish in the Top Three in the Food City 500.
NASCAR betting: Food City 500 Top Three
1. Jeff Gordon +200 - - Gordon, ranked in the top five in the NASCAR Power Rankings, has been driving about as well as any driver in NASCAR up to this point. Of course, he hasn’t won a race yet, but he has finished in the top five twice, including a second place finish to Kurt Busch in the Kobalt Tools 500.
2. Kyle Busch +150 - - Kyle should bounce back from his poor showing in the Kobalt to once again get a top three placing. He has two top five finishes and a victory already this season. Busch never stays down too long.
3. Carl Edwards +150 - - Edwards has to be considered a good wager after winning the Sharpie 500 over the Bristol track last year. Carl has started to improve his finishing position on the track. He’s getting there.
4. Jeff Burton +500 - - Burton actually won the 2008 version of the Food City 500. He’s been good one week and bad the other, but this is a track Burton has had success on before and the odds are just awesome. He’s worth a look.
5. Clint Bowyer +400 - - Like Burton, Bowyer has had success over this track finishing first in the Sharpie Mini 300, a Nationwide race, last year. Bowyer has been pretty good this season and has a chance for a top three finish in this.
6. Kevin Harvick +300 - - Harvick is starting to get himself some press for doing some very good things on the racetrack. He was right there towards the end of the Kobalt Tools 500 and a top three finish could definitely happen for this driver that is finally coming into his own.
Best Long Shots
Brian Vickers +700 - - Vickers has really improved this season. 7 to 1 odds on a driver that appears to be getting better week to week has to put a smile on some gamblers’ faces.
Martin Truex Jr. +3000 - - Truex Jr. finished tenth in the Kobalt Tools 500. Could he possibly improve on that all to the way to 3rd in the Food City? Maybe not, but at 30 to 1, he’s worth a stab.
