NASCAR Betting: Ford 400 Six-Pack

NASCAR Betting: Ford 400 Six-Pack

We’ve finally reached the end of the road—quite literally—of the NASCAR season. After Kyle Busch dominated all season long, and appeared to be an absolute lock to win the championship, Jimmie Johnson looks to wrap it up. All he needs is a 36th place finish or better and it’s all over—the No. 48 car will capture his third consecutive season title.

With that being said, not everyone’s NASCAR betting season is over—so let’s take a look at the six best plays for this weekend’s race at Homestead!

Carl Edwards

“Concrete Carl” is the only racer with a real chance of winning the title on Sunday, with the exception of Johnson. Carl needs to lead the most laps, and win the race in order to have a remote shot at the hardware. Edwards is still a young racer with plenty of spunk, and he’d be gunning for the checkered flag even if he wasn’t in title contention.

Greg Biffle

Prior to the banking height being changed at Homestead, the Biff was a master at this track. He even won three consecutive races at Miami, but has since struggled a bit. Biffle is another intense racer who guns for the win no matter what, so he’s a great play for this Sunday.

Jeff Gordon

The No. 24 car is an excellent pick for those playing the Top 5 and Top 10 lines on BetUs.com. Seven of the nine races that have been run at Homestead have featured Gordon in the Top 10, so there’s a good chance that he’ll be hanging around the front of the pack. He’ll also draw the assignment of blocking for teammate Jimmie Johnson.

Mark Martin

During a race that everyone will be driving like wildmen looking for a win, and testing out new equipment, people will pay Martin their respects and not run into him. This bodes well for the grizzled veteran, who is a good bet for at least a Top 10 in this race.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin’s team will be testing a new car this week, so it’s a risky play. However, Hamlin’s team usually puts together a good car, so if it turns out well, Hamlin could be vying for the checkered by the end of the run.

Matt Kenseth

Mr. Consistency has three straight Top 10s at Homestead, and actually won this race last year. Hard to bet against the defending champ!
