With the start of the 2009 MLB regular season set to kick off in less than one month, the BetUS oddsmakers have come up with a multitude of entertaining MLB Futures Odds for the 2009 regular season – this time, a season hits total futures odds featuring some of the best hitters in the game today.

MLB Sportsbook bettors can earn some significant chunk by predicting the hit totals of some of the best hitters in the game today.

This look at each player’s MLB hit total odds, followed by my analysis and MLB Free Picks will get bettors off to a solid regular season wagering start.

Stephen Drew

Over 167½ Hits -115

Under 167½ Hits -115

Analysis: Drew had 178 hits last season, 129 hits in 2007 and 66 hits in 2006 in 59 games as a rookie. I think he’ll rap out at least 170 hits if he doesn’t get injured while likely improving on his .291 batting average.

MLB Free Pick: Over 167½ Total Hits

Jimmy Rollins

Over 173½ Hits -115

Under 173½ Hits -115

Analysis: This could be a tougher pick than expected as Rollins slumped last season after winning the NL MVP award in 2007. The fleet-footed Phillies’ shortstop banged out just 154 hits last season after recording 212, 191, 196 and 190 in his previous four seasons dating back to 2004.If Rollins returns to form, he should be able to get back to the 190-hit vicinity. Take the over here for J-Roll

MLB Free Pick: Over 167½ Total Hits

Ryan Braun

Over 167½ Hits -115

Under 167½ Hits -115

Analysis: In two big league season, Braun has rapped out 174 hits last season and 146 hits in 113 games. However, I’m not convinced the free-swing home run hitter will reach 167 hits in 2009, so I say buyer beware – and take the Under.

MLB Free Pick: Under 167 Total Hits

Matt Kemp

Over 165½ Hits -115

Under 165½ Hits -115

Analysis: Kemp laced 176 hits last season in his first year as a full-time starter after getting 100 hits in 2007 and 39 hits in 52 games as a rookie call-up in 2006.

Kemp is clearly a talented player that I fully believe is only going to get better as time moves along. If he recorded 176 hits last season, I believe he can do it again in 2009.

MLB Free Pick: Over 165½ Total Hits

Ian Kinsler

Over 166½ Hits -115

Under 166½ Hits -115

Analysis: Going backwards from last season, Kinsler has totaled 165, 127 and 121 hits. I’ll keep this pick simple and plain for my beloved BetUS MLB sports betting fanatics, by saying – it’s not gonna’ happen. Kinsler goes Under in this futures wager.

MLB Free Pick: Under 166½ Total Hits

David Wright

Over 180½ Hits -115

Under 180½ Hits -115

Analysis: Going back the last five seasons, Wright has banged out 189, 196, 181, 176 and 77 hits as a rookie. Not only does Wright have excellent power, but he’s a career .309 hitter – and I just don’t see him dropping off any time soon. Take the Over for Wright here MLB Sportsbook bettors.

MLB Free Pick: Over 180½ Total Hits

Hunter Pence

Over 165½ Hits -115

Under 165½ Hits -115

Analysis: Nothing about Pence’s hitting so far makes me believe he’s going to top his set O/U total for this wager. Pence rapped out 160 hits last season in 157 games and 147 hits in 108 games in 2007. Maybe it’s me, but I don’t see it.

MLB Free Pick: Under 165½ Total Hits
