American League Pennant - The Best Division in Baseball

Baseball season is here and MLB betting fans are gearing up for a very profitable 2009 MLB Season.
One way to ensure profits is to make a future book wager on a team to win one of the pennants before the season starts. That’s when the odds are at their best.
Let’s analyze some of the team’s chances to win the 2009 American League Pennant.
MLB: American League Pennant
1. Boston Red Sox +300 - - Boston should be awesome in 2009 with a healthy Josh Becket, Jon Lester, and Dice-K all pitching in that starting rotation. There’s no doubt that getting Jason Bay while getting rid of Manny Ramirez was a terrific move and because the Yankees made all of those free agent moves, the Red Sox won’t have the eyes of the baseball world on them. They’re a solid wager to win the A.L. pennant.
2. New York Yankees +225 - - The Yankees have an excellent shot to win the A.L. Pennant this season but nobody really knows how well C.C. Sabbathia and A.J. Burnett are going to do in the starting rotation. Also, what’s up with A-Rod? Mark Texeira can’t help but be good but after that there are some holes with this team.
3. Los Angeles Angels +500 - - The team hasn’t changed that much other than losing Texeira and Francisco Rodriguez. Rodriguez could be a huge loss but the Angels automatically make the playoffs because they play out of the A.L. West. A divisional championship means they get themselves into position to win a pennant right off the bat. They have to be considered for a wager.
4. Tampa Bay Rays +750 - - If the Red Sox suffer key injuries and the New York Yankees just don’t gel, then the Rays will be right there to win the A.L. East again. Evan Longoria should be better this season and the rest of the Rays won’t falter that much. Tampa Bay has a shot if things fall their way.
Best Long Shots
Cleveland Indians +900 - - I’m not sure if the Indians are as good as some bettors believe they will be going into 2009. They have one of the best pitchers in baseball in Cliff Lee but after that, I’m just not sure if they can contend. Still, with Lee and some luck they’ll make it to the post-season. Then, anything can happen.
Minnesota Twins +1400 - - Minnesota is consistently good, the odds are terrific, and isn’t it time that the Twins did something fantastic? Minnesota could be the surprise team of the A.L. At 14 to 1, I’ll be betting that they are.
Detroit Tigers +1000 - - They were the favorites in 2008 and gamblers can’t be chided for believing in them in 2009. If they can get their pitching rotation settled, then they’ll be dangerous because they’ve got some serious bats and manager Jim Leyland is one of the best in the history of baseball.
