Streaking Nationals Look To Defeat Braves

Bookmark and Share by BetUS Staff

The Washington Nationals, (49-85, 71-63 RL, 60-69-5 O/U) are flying high after sweeping the playoff-contending Los Angeles Dodgers in their three-game set that concluded with Thursday’s emphatic 11-2 spanking.

Now, the Nationals will try to match their longest winning streak of the season by handing the reeling Atlanta Braves, (59-75, 65-69 RL, 55-75-4 O/U), another convincing defeat.

Winners of three straight and five of their last seven games overall, the Nationals will turn hand the ball to southpaw Odalis Perez (5-10, 4.21).

The veteran hurler has struggled recently, going 0-2 with a 4.96 ERA over his last three outings. Perez was rocked for five runs on 10 hits in just 4.1 innings in Washington’s 9-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.

Atlanta will counter with talented, but struggling right-hander Jorge Campillo (7-6, 3.37 ERA), who is 1-2 with a 7.04 ERA in his last four starts.

Campillo limited the St. Louis Cardinals to three runs on seven hits in five innings but didn’t record a decision in Atlanta’s 8-4 win on Saturday.

Campillo will face Nationals shortstop Cristian Guzman who hit for the cycle on Thursday while going 4-for-5 with three RBI.

Here is a look at tonight’s key online baseball wagering trends followed by my analysis and MLB betting online Free Picks:

The Over is 5-2 in Campillo’s last seven starts overall.

The Braves are 4-1 in Campillo’s last five road starts.

The Nationals are 4-0 in Perez’s last four Friday starts
.
The Nationals are 3-7 in Perez’s last ten starts.

The Over is 4-1 in Campillo’s last five road starts.

The Under is 6-0 in Perez’s last six starts during game one of a series.

The Under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Washington.

The Braves are 1-5 in the last six meetings.

Atlanta Braves -1½ -110

Jorge Campillo –R -165

Washington Nationals +1½ -110

Odalis Perez –L +145

Over 8½ -110

Under 8½ -110

Analysis: While the Braves have struggles mightily recently and Washington has won three straight, I like Atlanta to win this contest handily with Jorge Campillo getting back to looking like the staff ace he was for the Braves just about a month ago. Take the Braves to halt Washington’s winning ways.
