MLB Baseball Betting - Phillies vs. Cardinals

The Phillies and Cardinals finish up a three game sports betting series on Sunday afternoon. They are both two of the better teams in the National League and this series could be a sign of what’s to come this fall. The Phillies send pitcher Brett Meyers to the mound. Meyers has had a strange year so far this season. Even though his ERA is hovering above 5 at 5.34, he does have three wins on the season. Meyers has a 3 and 8 record.
The St. Louis Cardinals counter with pitcher Mitchell Boggs. The twenty-four year old Boggs was brought up just this season. How has he done? Well, in his first game he pitched very well. This is only his second game of the year. He appears to have the ability and the name sort of says it all, doesn’t it?

I like the Cardinals in this game. Boggs might be the next coming of Sandy Koufax. Okay. That’s stretching it for MLB betting fans, but he is plenty good enough to hold off Brett Meyers and the Philadelphia Phillies in this game.
Mitchell Boggs is only twenty-four years old. That means that the kid has plenty of upside.
I’ll be making a wager on the Cardinals to win this game straight-up. I do believe that Boggs will go off the favorite but it’s only his second lifetime start. Why put more pressure on the kid, albeit from afar, to perform against one of the better teams in the National League?
The Cardinals are at home where they play very well. They are a good team. Even without Albert Pujols, I like the Cardinals to win this Sunday match-up.
