Colorado Rockies @ Los Angeles Dodgers

Baseball betting is a game of streaks and when a team is cold, you have to fade them until they show you otherwise.

The Colorado Rockies are the reigning National League Champions, which is surprising to say at this point considering their record is 17 games below .500.

By the standings, they are the worst team in sports betting.

Realistically, they probably aren’t really this bad but a slew of injuries have ripped apart a pretty potent baseball betting lineup.

Matt Holliday, Troy Tulowitzki, Clint Barmes and Ryan Spilborghs are all injured. On top of that, the starting pitching has completely gone to the dogs.

Now they head to Los Angeles trying to snap an eight-game losing streak. The problem is that they’ve only won eight games on the road all season. About the only good news is that Aaron Cook will pitch on Wednesday in this online betting series. He has seven wins and the Rockies have won eight of their 20 games when he was on the hill.

Detroit Tigers @ Oakland Athletics

It’s getting close to the time when we can start writing off the Detroit Tigers as a playoff contender. Their potent yet unfriendly sportsbook betting lineup isn’t hitting consistently, the fielding is so-so and the pitching is deplorable.

The Tigers have lost nine of their last 12 road games and will throw their three lefties in their upcoming series.

The problem is that Kenny Rogers, Dontrelle Willis and Nate Robertson all have ERAs of 5.88 or higher. The three A’s pitchers – Rich Harden, Dana Eveland and Justin Duchscerer – all have ERAs of 3.66 or lower.

And the three A’s starters pitch significantly better at home than they do on the road. They are a combined 8-2 at home.

The good news for Detroit is that Oakland is struggling. On May 9th, they were 22-15. Today, they are 30-27.

The biggest problem for the A’s has been their health or lack thereof. They have 11 players on the disabled list.

This is the only three times these two teams will meet this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Milwaukee Brewers

Very quietly, the Arizona Diamondbacks have dropped in the standings. They have lost nine of their last 12 games and are reeling somewhat after being one of the most dominant sports betting teams in the team league through April.

Most of their problems have come on the road where they have lost eight of 10. Now they head to Milwaukee to face the Brewers who are 16-10 at home.

Clearly, the Brewers should have a significant advantage playing in their backyard. Add to the fact that the Brewers three starts of Jeff Suppan, Seth McClung and Manny Parra are a combined 5-2 at home versus 3-6 on the road.

The Diamondbacks will matchup with Doug Davis, Randy Johnson and Micah Owings.

Look for the Brewers to keep the Diamondbacks in their tailspan.
