The Boston Red Sox travel to Cleveland to take on the Indians one day after pulling off a sports betting, nail biting hard fought 8 to 5 victory versus their number one rivals - - the New York Yankees. The Red Sox get no chance to rest after their heated series against the Yankees. The Indians are no slouches. The Red Sox send John Lester to the mound. Lester hasn’t been overly impressive so far this season. In 3 games and 16 innings, Lester has given up 13 hits, 8 runs, and 16 walks. His ERA is 4.50.
The Indians send Jake Westbrook to the mound. Westbrook has been somewhat more impressive then Lester so far this season. Even though Westbrook is no better then the fourth best pitcher in the Indians’ rotation - - after C.C. Sabathia, Fausto Carmona, and Paul Byrd - - he’s only given up 5 runs in 13 innings of work. He is 1 and 1 on the season with a 2.76 ERA. The Indians took out the Oakland Athletics 7 to 1 on Sunday.

Let’s take a look at the BetUS lines.
Boston Red Sox
John Lester – L + 1 ½ - 200 + 105 O 9 ½
Cleveland Indians
Jake Westbrook – R - 1 ½ + 170 - 125 U 9 ½
The Indians have no injuries to report. The Red Sox will be without Mike Lowell, but they played the Yankees series this past weekend without him. His loss won’t affect the outcome of this game much.
What will affect this game is the fact that the Red Sox have to travel to Cleveland after fighting tooth and nail against the hated New York Yankees all weekend. In reality the Indians are a better team then the Yankees. The Red Sox will be hard-pressed to beat the Indians at home even though the Indians start the fourth option in their rotation, Jake Westbrook, in this game.
But I like to look beyond the obvious and try to find the best wager available. Without a doubt that looks like the BetUS over to me. The BetUS over/under in this game is 9 ½. As the Red Sox proved in their past three games, they can score at will in most innings. There’s a strong bat in every position in their line-up.
The Indians shouldn’t have much trouble getting to John Lester in this game. Even though he is a lefty and the Indians are loaded with mostly right-handed batters, both Victor Martinez and Asdrubral Cabrera can switch hit. That should help the Indians get to Lester enough to force Lester to exit early.
The BetUS over/under in the Boston Red Sox versus Cleveland Indians game is 9 ½ runs.
Because neither Lester nor Westbrook appears capable of going a solid 7 innings without giving up at least 2 to 3 runs, and because both of these teams are loaded with hitters, I like the over.
