BetUS MLB baseball betting odds: Atlanta -130, Milwaukee +110; Total 8.5
The Atlanta Braves (28-23) are trying to stay hot on the heels of the NL East-leading Florida Marlins, and on Tuesday night they will try to gain some ground when they face the Milwaukee Brewers (24-27) in National League sports betting action that is set to begin at 8:05 PM ET at Miller Park (natural turf).
Tim Hudson (7-3, 2.97 ERA) is the starter for Atlanta, while David Bush (1-5, 6.70 ERA) takes the hill for the Brew Crew.
At BetUS online sportsbook, Atlanta is listed as a -130 online betting favorite (Milwaukee is +110), with a total of 8.5 runs (the Over is -125, while the Under is +105).
Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this matchup:
* ATL has won seven of its last nine games
* ATL has played four of its last six games OVER the total
* ATL has played 14 of its last 21 games UNDER the total
* ATL has lost nine of its last 11 road games
* ATL has played seven of its last nine road games UNDER the total
* MIL has lost eight of its last 12 games
* MIL has played four of its last six games UNDER the total
In the HEAD-TO-HEAD MLB betting trends:
* ATL has won four of the last five meetings
* MIL has won four of the last six meetings as the home team
* Twelve of the last 18 games in Atlanta have gone UNDER the total
Atlanta has been hot lately, and they have climbed back into contention in the National League's East division. But most of this good work has been done at home. In fact, almost all of it has. The Braves have pulled a great Jekyll-and-Hyde act, going 22-7 at home but only 6-16 on the road.
Tim Hudson is going to try and mitigate that tonight. Hudson has been up-and-down when traveling, as he has come up with stellar efforts against Washington and Pittsburgh, but was hit hard by Florida and the Mets, lasting just three innings each in those games. Atlanta has won four of his last five starts, though.
David Bush has simply been slapped around. Bush has made eight starts, and has gone no further than six innings in any of them. At the same time, he has given up four runs or more in six of them. In his last two starts, he has surrendered ten earned runs in eleven innings. The Brewers have won only two of his starts and four of Bush's last five games have gone over the total.
Seeing a team with a .273 winning percentage on the road laying a price in that role is not particularly appetizing. But let's consider that: Hudson is on the mound, giving Atlanta its best possible chance; Bush is pitching for Milwaukee, which might give them the least possible chance, and the Brewers have not established a big home field edge, going just 11-9.
We'll lay the price with Atlanta, the -130 favorite in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
