The Detroit Tigers, (32-38, 36-34 RL) may have lost to the San Francisco Giants, (31-40, 36-35 RL) 8-6 on Monday night, snapping their six-game winning streak in the BetUS Sportsbook, but the Tigers have still managed to win eight of their last ten games overall and are finally starting to look like the American League powerhouse that many thought they would be before the regular season ever started.
The Tigers will look to get back in the win column against the Giants tonight for the BetUS online MLB wagering population by handing the ball to veteran left-hander Kenny Rogers, (4-4, 4.63), who had failed to record a decision in each his last four starts though he has allowed just four earned runs in 29 innings covering that span.
The 43-year-old Rogers limited the Chicago White Sox to one unearned run in eight innings of Detroit’s 2-1 win on Thursday.
"He's been fantastic for us lately," Leyland said. "He's given us everything we could possibly want."
The San Francisco Giants will look to pick up back-to-back wins tonight by countering with left-hander Jonathan Sanchez (6-3, 4.26 ERA) the team’s second best pitcher behind the overpowering Tim Lincecum.
Sanchez however, was rocked in his last start, getting tagged for seven runs on nine hits in five innings on Thursday, though he still picked up a victory in the Giants’ 10-7 win.
Here is a look at tonight’s key online sports wagering trends followed by my analysis and MLB online betting Free Picks.
The Tigers are 16-4 in Rogers' last 20 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150.
The Tigers are 8-2 in Rogers' last ten starts during game two of a series.
The Giants are 5-1 in Sanchez’s last six starts vs. a team with a losing record.
The Giants are 5-1 in Sanchez’s last six home starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5.
The Over is 9-0-1 in Rogers' last ten starts as a road favorite.
The Under is 4-1 in Sanchez’s last five home starts.
The Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
Analysis: Despite being on the road in this contest, I’m advising the BetUS online MLB sports wagering community to take the Detroit Tigers, based on Kenny Rogers’ recent mastery – not to mention Sanchez’s poor start in his last outing. Take the Tigers to win this contest fairly easily.
