MLB Baseball Betting - White Sox vs. Angels

MLB bettors looking for some late night wagering action will get their fill this evening when the (18-21) Chicago White Sox commence their west coast road to battle the (24-17) LA Angels. Chicago dropped its third straight game last night as their offense failed them in the 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Angels. LA righty Jered Weaver stymied Chicago’s offense through seven innings allowing just one hit while striking out six and walking a pair. Opposing pitcher John Danks also pitched well, but they got to him just enough in the late innings to scratch two across against Chicago’s bullpen. With the loss, Chicago now stands 9-13 on the road making the betting public very angry for not churning out a return on their investments. At two games under .500, the White Sox still find themselves two-games in back of the AL Central Division leading Minnesota Twins who lost to Toronto Tuesday evening. The Angels aren’t dominating at home like they have in the past, but they’re still over .500 at 12-8 on the year making their betting backers a couple of units on the year. LA has played some decent ball at home this year earning themselves an 11-8 mark to date.

Last nights win earned their moneyline backers their second winning ticket in their L/6 overall, and they’re currently tied atop the AL West Division with the Oakland A’s who got shut-out at Cleveland Tuesday night.

Jose Contreras will look to put an end to Chicago’s three-game losing streak when he toes the rubber for his eighth start of the season. So far this year, Contreras is 3-3 with a 3.66 ERA allowing 44 hits and 20 runs (19 earned) with a K/BB ratio of 25/13. He’s been pretty solid on the road as well compiling a 2-1 mark with a 3.33 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in four total starts. The White Sox are 3-1 when he’s gotten a road start this season with wins against the Mariners, Orioles, and Tigers. In his career against the Angels, Contreras is 5-4 with a 3.51 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 10 starts.

The highly anticipated first start of the season for John Lackey will occur this evening as he looks to bounce back from the triceps injury that landed him on the DL to start the season. He won 19 games for the Halos last season, and posted an AL leading 3.01 ERA. It was reported that he looked good in his final rehab start on May 9. In 10 career starts against the White Sox, Lackey is 3-5 with a 4.66 ERA and 1.41 WHIP. LA has lost four of his L/5 starts against the AL Central representatives.

Oddsmakers opened the Angels lofty –150 home favorites in this evening’s baseball betting affair with the ‘total’ set at 9 under -120. BetUS.com offers all MLB betting odds be it side, total, or run-line, so be sure to login to your account and get your wagers down before the first pitch.

Chicago is 10-4 their L/14 trips to Angels Stadium, and they’re 5-1 the L/6 times Contreras faced them. They’re also 7-3 in Contreras’ L/10 starts as a road underdog between +110 and +150. It hasn’t been stated whether Lackey will be on a pitch count or not, but this looks to be an awful lot of chalk for LA bettors to eat knowing their 29th ranked bullpen will ultimately play a large role in determining tonight’s outcome.
