The top two teams in the AL Central will square off in tonight’s MLB online gambling affair when the (31-29) Minnesota Twins invade US Cellular Field to take on the (33-26) Chicago White Sox. The Twins just wrapped up a seven-game homestand against the NY Yankees and Baltimore Orioles that saw MLB bettors go 3-4 and lose $122.00, while the White Sox returned home after Manager Ozzie Guillen’s post-game tirade in Tampa Bay to take three straight from the Kansas City Royals. The Twins have been tagged a decent road team by MLB Handicappers this season having won 13 of its 27 overall games, while the White Sox have been a tremendous MLB wager at home securing victories in 16 of its 25 overall games. These clubs have faced each other seven times this season, and it’s the Twins that currently hold the upper hand with a 4:3 series advantage. They last met back in early May at US Cellular Field where Chicago took two of three. The most memorable game of the series occurred in Game 2 when Carlos Gomez had his coming out party and hit for the cycle. This promises to be one heck of a series with the Twins just 2.5-games in back of the White Sox for the top spot in the AL Central.
Nick Blackburn’s last start is one he’ll never forget. Not because he threw a no-hitter, or struck out 20 batters, but because he took a line drive off the face from Bobby Abreu that instantly turned his nose into a leaky faucet. The Twins still ended up winning that game, and have won four of his last five overall starts. He hasn’t been as sharp on the road going 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.37 WHIP, but he did serve up victories in each of his last two road starts at Colorado and Kansas City. Surprisingly, this will be the fourth time he’ll face Chicago this season. He’s 1-1 in those starts with a 4.00 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.
Javier Vazquez will look to bounce back from his last outing at Tampa Bay where he threw seven innings of two-run ball in defeat, and also improve his string of quality starts that currently sits at four in a row. He’s 5-4 with a solid 3.43 ERA allowing 78 hits and 31 runs (30 earned) with a spectacular K/BB ratio of 77/17 in 78+ total innings of work. His 77 K’s are the second most in the American League. He owns a personal mark of 3-1 at home this season with a 3.15 ERA. This will be just his second home start in his last seven outings. In his career against the Twins, Vazquez is 5-5 with a 4.97 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 15 total starts. He’s 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in his lone start against Minnesota this season, which came at home back in early April.

Chicago has feasted upon divisional competition this season winning 17 of their 25 overall games (9-1 L/10), and they’re 21-12 this year after coming off a win in its previous game. Minnesota’s managed just three wins in their L/10 trips to the “Windy City”, and they’re yet to beat Vazquez at US Cellular field the L/4 times they’ve faced him. Lay the tall chalk with the home team that looks to be reenergized after Guillen’s blow-up.
