MLB Baseball Betting Action – Arizona Diamondbacks at Florida Marlins

Despite incorrectly calling Tuesday’s contest against the surprising Florida Marlins, (25-19, 28-16 RL), predicting another victory for the red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks, (28-17, 24-20 RL), I think tonight’s sports betting contest will be much easier for both, the BetUS MLB online betting community as well as myself, with overpowering right-hander Brandon Webb, (9-0, 2.56 ERA) taking the mound for Arizona looking to become the first pitcher in the majors to win their first ten starts of the season since San Diego Padres hurler Andy Hawkins won his first 10 way back in 1985.
Webb, the 2006 NL Cy Young award winner, was solid in his last outing, limiting the Colorado Rockies to three runs on six hits while striking out eight in 7 1/3 innings while leading Arizona to an 8-5 victory.
"It's pretty amazing," said Webb, who I thought should have won the Cy Young last season after turning it up a notch and winning six straight starts down the stretch during his historic scoreless innings streak in July and August of last year. "It's getting to be amazing. Things are just happening."
Webb credited Arizona’s offense for spotting him some early runs, allowing him to throw the ball with more abandon and less caution.
"Almost every time that I've been out there this year I've had a lead in the bottom of the first or second inning," Webb told his team's official Web site.
The Marlins will counter with mediocre right-hander Ricky Nolasco (2-3, 5.18) who has not pitched more than six innings in any start this season.
Marlins second baseman Dan Uggla, who blasted his 14th home run of the season on Tuesday has hit safely in 10 consecutive games.
