Incendiary Indians Will Try To Topple ‘King Felix’

by BetUS Staff

The Cleveland Indians (65-67, 65-66 RL, 63-66-2 O/U) have won 10 straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook and will look to extend their winning streak tonight when they host the Seattle Mariners (50-83, 61-70 RL, 65-62-4 O/U) and one of the best pitchers in the American League tonight.

Winners of 16 of their last 19 games overall, including a solid 9-7 win over Detroit on Wednesday, the Indians will miss out on the postseason despite their torrid ways recently.

"The longer you're able to soak in something, the more real it is," he told the Indians' official Web site. "Hopefully, we'll keep playing good baseball. At the very least, this is going to give us a more optimistic view about what we have here, and that's a good thing."

The Indians are the first team in baseball since the Tampa Bay Rays in 2004, to win 10 straight and lose 10 straight games in the same season.

"The makeup of the guys in this clubhouse is that they can have a 10-game losing streak and put it all behind them," Cleveland catcher Kelly Shoppach said.

The Mariners will try to snap Cleveland’s winning streak by turning to gifted right-hander Felix Hernandez (8-8, 3.28 ERA), who recorded his first win since July 18 in his last start by limiting the Oakland A’s to three runs on four hits in Seattle’s 8-4 win on Sunday.

"I haven't won a game for a long time and it feels great," he said. "I've got to go out there and do the best I can and try to win another one."

The Indians will counter with lefty, Jeremy Sowers (2-6, 5.95), who has recorded a 2-0 record with a 1.80 ERA in three career starts against Seattle.

Sowers is coming off an atrocious outing in his last start as he allowed seven runs in just 3.2 innings but escaped with no decision in Cleveland’s 8-7 victory over Texas.

Here is a look at tonight’s key online sports wagering trends followed by my analysis and MLB online betting Free Picks:

The Mariners are 6-1 in Hernandez’s last seven Friday starts.

The Mariners are 5-1 in Hernandez’s last six starts during game one of a series.

The Indians are 5-1 in Sowers' last six starts on grass.

The Indians are 5-2 in Sowers' last seven starts after scoring five runs or more in their previous game.

The Under is 6-1 in Hernandez’s last seven starts after scoring five runs or more in their previous game.

The Over is 5-1 in Sowers' last six starts after allowing five runs or more in their previous game.

The Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Cleveland.

The Over is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings.

Seattle Mariners +1½ -190

Felix Hernandez Ev

Cleveland Indians -1½ +160

Jeremy Sowers -120

Over 9 Ev

Under -120

Analysis: Despite their absolutely incendiary ways lately, I like the Cleveland Indians to fall in this contest to the Mariners and more specifically, Felix Hernandez. Jeremy Sowers was battered in his last start and I think the Mariners will be able to put up enough runs in this contest to actually pull it out in the end.
