Houston Astros face Ace Zambrano, Cubs
by BetUS Staff

Things are going well for the Cubs. Yes, their top pitcher, Carlos Zambrano, didn’t start on Monday night as scheduled because he was tired and the Cubs did lose the game. No worries. Zambrano gets the start on Tuesday night.
That’s not the good news for the Cubs. The good news is that their main rival in the N.L. Central, heck, in the entire National League, the Milwaukee Brewers, watched as one of their star pitchers, Ben Sheets, left the Brew Crew’s game versus the New York Mets after the fifth inning because of a groin pull.
That allowed the Mets to get back into it and beat the Brewers. Zambrano should find things to his liking on Tuesday night. With his record of 13 and 5 and his ERA of 3.53, Zambrano really shouldn’t have any issues taking it to the Astros on Tuesday night. Zambrano has been a solid play for MLB betting fans.
The Houston Astros counter the terrific Carlos Zambrano with pitcher Brandon Backe. Backe has been Zambrano’s opposite for baseball betting fans. His record of 9 and 12 is a losing one and his ERA of 5.42 can’t give baseball betting fans much hope that he will bring home profits in this game.
Here are the BetUS baseball betting odds for this game.
Houston Astros
Brandon Backe – R + 175
Chicago Cubs
Carlos Zambrano – R - 210
Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.
The Houston Astros are 4 and 0 in their last 4 game 2s of a series.
The Houston Astros are 25-10 in their last 35 games overall.
The Chicago Cubs are 7 and 2 in their last 9 games after a loss.
The Chicago Cubs are 6 and 1 in their last 7 games after scoring 2 or less runs in the previous game.
At this point the BetUS Sportsbook hasn’t released online wagering odds on the run line. Why? Because Zambrano looks to beat Backe down with ease. Backe shouldn’t have a shot against that Chicago Cubs’ line-up. Why offer a run line when a fair online wager can’t be created for it?
Instead, the BetUS online sportsbook has given us the choice of betting the Astros straight up or the Cubs straight up. The BetUS online oddsmakers may issue a run line before the game, but it won’t matter. The online odds will be so skewed towards Zambrano that it will be impossible to bet either Zambrano or Backe.
But it’s also impossible to bet the Cubs in this game. Yes, the odds of the Astros winning aren’t very good, but having to put an extra 110 bucks on a guy, that would be Carlos Zambrano, who’s tired isn’t a great online bet either.
I’ll be making a small online wager on the Houston Astros to upset the Cubs in this game on Tuesday night. Who knows? Maybe, I’ll end up betting on the dog at exactly the right time.
