Baseball Betting Insider - NL Best $$$ Pitchers
by Mike Rose

With the playoffs just a few short weeks away, MLB betting action has never been hotter. Check out this week’s list of the top NL pitchers that you should be firing away on the next time you place a baseball bet at BetUS.com!
1) Josh Johnson, Florida Marlins (17-6, +$1,022) Dating back to May 24th, Marlins bettors have been absolutely unstoppable with Johnson on the hill. They’re 11-3 and up $743 in that stretch. For whatever reason, the baseball betting lines just don’t seem to have caught up. Johnson has only been a -160 favorite or higher twice this entire season. Not bad for a guy that has only allowed more than three runs twice this season.
2) Matt Cain, San Francisco Giants (16-6, +$915) Cain was surprisingly jacked up by a lousy Cincinnati squad on Sunday afternoon, which handed him his second straight loss after opening the season at 12-2. The righty has now had two awful starts after going on a tear of five straight and 12 out of 14 starts without conceding more than one earned run. The Giants are going to need to get Cain back on track if they hope to make the playoffs.
3) Carlos Zambrano, Chicago Cubs (14-6, +$717) Big Z was a late scratch from last week’s start, and now he’s on the 15-day DL. Cubs bettors are crying at that fact, as they were a perfect 5-0 in his L/5 trips to the mound. He’s really only had one bad start since the start of July, but he got the win in spite of the fact that he allowed five runs (four earned) in 6.2 innings against the Phillies. The sooner he gets back, the more likely the Cubs will make the playoffs.
4) Jason Marquis, Colorado Rockies (14-8, +$710) Marquis’ run of six straight quality starts came to an end on Saturday when he was knocked around for five runs in six innings by the Cubs. Even though he has never really panned out into the stud starting pitcher that the Braves thought they had when they brought him up in 2000, Marquis now has six straight seasons with at least 11 wins under his belt.
5) Braden Looper, Milwaukee Brewers (14-9, +$684) Looper won a very important game in Los Angeles on Wednesday night to help keep the Brewers around in the playoff hunt. He may be 10-5 on the season, but this is probably a case of a pitcher being more lucky than good. There are a ton of pitchers out there right now with ERAs significantly better than Looper’s 4.84 that would kill to have ten wins on the season.
6) Ricky Nolasco, Florida Marlins (13-8, +$659) It looks like a two-week stint in the minors did wonders for Nolasco. Since going to AAA to work on his mechanics and to find the strike zone again, the right-hander has been fantastic. He is 6-2 with a 2.58 ERA in his L/12 starts. Marlins bettors are 9-3 and up $816 in that stretch.
7) Wandy Rodriguez, Houston Astros (15-8, +$651) Rodriguez pitched an absolute gem against the Brewers on Sunday afternoon, throwing seven shutout innings and allowing just five hits in the process. The win won the series with Milwaukee, which leaves the ‘Stros tied with the Brew Crew for third in the NL Central. There’s still a lot of work to be done if they’re going to run down the Cubs and Cards.
