The Battle of the Sox to be Entertaining
by BetUS Staff

The White Sox and Red Sox will meet for the fifth time this season in tonight’s crucial MLB online betting affair between current division and wild card leaders. Chicago currently holds a 1.5-game lead over the Minnesota Twins for the top spot in the AL Central, while Boston trails Tampa Bay by 4.5-games in the AL East but holds a 2.5-game lead over the Minnesota Twins in the Wild Card race.
MLB bettors have made some decent coin backing the Palehose making upwards of $1300 on the year by compiling a 76-57 overall mark. Boston has been profitable as well making its baseball betting backers close to $1000 on the year by winning 77 of its 133 overall games. Chicago enters this three-game set off a demoralizing loss to the Baltimore Orioles in the final game of their series at Camden Yards.
The loss dropped them to 30-35 on the road costing sportsbettors upwards of $300 on the season. Boston returns to Fenway Park off a successful nine-game road trip that saw them win each series against the Orioles, Blue Jays, and Yankees. The Red Sox have been a much better MLB wager at home this year where they’ve won 43 of 61 overall to reel in $1500+ of baseball profit.
They’ll take the field this evening knowing they were a loser in their last two home contests, so expect to see an amped up club tonight. These teams met earlier at US Cellular Field for a four game set that saw each club pick up a pair of victories. Boston demoralized Chicago last season winning seven of their eight overall match-ups. Both clubs boast winning marks in Game 1 of a series off a loss their last time out; Chicago’s 11-8 on the year, while Boston’s a stellar 15-3.
Right-hander Javier Vazquez will be making his 27th start of the season when he opposes the Red Sox for the ninth time in his career. He enters his turn in the rotation 10-11 overall with a 4.37 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. His winning streak was snapped at two his last time out against Tampa Bay where he threw seven innings of five hit ball, but the four earned runs he gave up late was enough to saddle him with the loss.
Chicago’s won seven of his 13 road starts and he owns a personal 4-6 record with a 4.55 ERA and 1.42 WHIP as a visitor. He’s yet to face Boston this season, but in his career, he’s 2-5 with a 4.76 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in eight overall starts.
Looking to outduel the White Sox righty will be Boston’s Daisuke Matsuzaka who comes into his 24th start of the season off a no decision effort at Toronto that snapped his personal four-game winning streak. He struck out eight Toronto batters and walked none, but surrendered eight hits and five earned runs through just six innings of work in Boston’s 6-5 extra innings victory.
Boston’s 10-2 in his 12 Fenway starts this season where he sports a 3.28 ERA and has allowed 62 hits and 25 earned runs through 68+ total innings of work. He tossed an eight inning gem in Chicago earlier this season that saw him allow just four hits and one-run in Boston’s 6-2 road victory.
MLB Oddsmakers installed the Red Sox –165 home favorites in this evening’s baseball betting affair with the ‘total’ set at 9 over -110. BetUS.com offers all MLB betting odds be it side, total, or run-line, so be sure to login to your account and get your action in before the first pitch.
