MLB Sunday: Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets

The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets battle it out on a Sunday night with no less than the N.L. East Division at stake. The Phillies, who have been atop the N.L. East for most of this season, all of a sudden find themselves three games behind the Mets. The Mets could bury the Phillies during this series. That makes Sunday’s game incredibly important. Both teams will send their aces to the mound on Sunday night. For the Mets, Johann Santana has been everything they expected this year. That makes him one of the better online baseball betting options on New York’s team. His ERA of 2.71 and 12-7 record is one the reasons that the Mets have taken the lead in the N.L. East.

The Phillies counter the brilliant Santana with another MLB betting favorite, Cole Hamels. Hamels has been very solid for Philadelphia this season going 12-8 with a 3.01 ERA. He will need to be on top of his game in this one for the Phillies to have any chance at a victory.
