Struggling veteran right-hander Paul Byrd (3-10, 5.53 ERA) takes the mound looking for his first win in over a month as he has lost five consecutive starts. Byrd allowed six runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings of Friday’s 12-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins.

"Frustrated, this has been as tough a month, month and a half, that I have ever had in the big leagues," said Byrd, who has recorded a 1-8 record with a 7.21 ERA in 10 road starts.
