Colorado Rockies @ Kansas City Royals
It might be going quietly unnoticed, but the Kansas City Royals are on fire.
The Royals have been thriving in interleague play, winning every series this year. Kansas City’s record against the American League is a hideous 24-40. Against the National League, they are 9-3.
Overall, the Royals have won seven of their last eight games averaging more than six runs per contest.
The Rockies have picked up the pace as well, winning four of their last six games, but all of those matchups were at home. The Rockies are 12-25 on the road, which is one of the worst road records in the Majors.

The Rockies will have their three best pitchers on the mound for this series: Jeff Francis, Jorge De La Rosa and Aaron Cook. The Rockies are 4-2 in their last six road games that these three pitchers have started.
Look for the Royals to continue dominating the National League this week.

So the honeymoon is over for the Seattle Mariners and now they can go back to playing like garbage. Actually, they already have.
The Mariners won their first game after manager John McLaren was fired. Then they blew their second in the ninth inning, and got smoked in their third outing 8-3.
The Mariners now head to face one of the other three teams that has fired their manager this year, the New York Mets.
The Mets have responded well to the firing, winning three of their last four games – all of which were on the road.
The Mets will throw Johan Santana, Oliver Perez and John Maine in this series against Felix Hernandez, R.A. Dickey and Erik Bedard.
Seattle will face two left-handed pitchers in this series and they are only 5-13 against lefties this year.
The Mets return home for the first time since manager Willie Randolph was fired in the middle of the night on Monday. We’ll see how Jerry Manuel responds at home – especially to the media – but at least they will get a softball matchup at home for the first couple of games.
The Mets are back at .500 for the first time since June 6th.

Los Angeles Angels @ Washington Nationals
The Los Angeles Angels are one of the best road teams in the Major Leagues, which is one of the reasons they are favored to represent the American League in the World Series.
The Angels have won 15 of their last 18 road games and just finished up a road sweep of the National League East leading Philadelphia Phillies. The Nationals don’t pose much of a threat since they are 12 games back of the Phillies.
The Angels will throw John Lackey, Jon Garland and Ervin Santana versus Jason Bergmann, Shawn Hill and Tim Redding. The Nationals first two starters in this series, Bergmann and Hill, are a combined 2-9.
Look for the Angels trip to the Nationals new ballpark to be a successful one.
