BetUS MLB Betting Odds: Cincinnati -135, L.A. Dodgers +115; Total 8.5

The Los Angeles Dodgers (31-38), who are sliding right now, visit Cincinnati on Tuesday night to play the Cincinnati Reds (33-38) in National League sports betting action that begins at 7:10 PM ET at the Great American Ball Park (natural grass).

Right-handers go at it, as Chad Billingsley (4-7, 3.70 ERA) of the Dodgers opposes Johnny Cueto (5-6, 5.42 ERA) of the Reds.

At BetUS online sportsbook, Cincinnati is listed as a -135 baseball wagering favorite (Los Angeles is +115), with a total of 8.5 runs (-110 each way).

Here are some of the MLB betting trends as they relate to this online betting matchup:

* LA has lost its last five games

* LA has played 17 of its last 25 games UNDER the total

* LA has lost its last five road games

* CIN has lost four of its last six road games

* CIN has won 14 of its last 19 home games

* CIN has lost four of its last six home games

In the HEAD-TO-HEAD baseball betting trends:

* LA has won five of the last six meetings

* LA has won six of the last nine meetings as the road team

* Five of the last seven games in Cincinnati have gone UNDER the total

The Dodgers come from Detroit, where they were swept by the Tigers over the weekend. Detroit got its offense going to a certain extent, and got home runs from Marcus Thames and Brandon Inge in Sunday's 5-4 win, and the Dodgers could not score a run in six innings against Detroit starter Nate Robertson.

The guy who is trying to stop things from getting worse is Chad Billingsley, who pitched seven shutout innings against Cincinnati, giving up just four hits, on May 20. That was part of a great stretch of four starts where he had given up just three earned runs. In his last two, however, he has not been as effective, surrendering four runs each to the Cubs and Padres, over 12 innings. Los Angeles has lost the last four times he's taken the hill, scoring only eight runs during that time.

Johnny Cueto will be trying to bounce back after an awful outing six days ago against the Cardinals, when he gave up six runs in five innings and walked eight St. Louis batters in a 10-0 humiliation. Cueto has occasionally suffered these kinds of blowups, though he can also be dominant at times, as he was in the first week or so, when he struck out 18 without a walk in his first two starts.

Los Angeles has been shut out twice in the last five games, and has scored one run in another. But the pitching staff has failed in the last two losses to Detroit. The Reds are laying a price but they also have played well at home (winning 14 of 19). We'll lay the -135 with Cincinnati, the -135 favorite in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
