Horseplayers have to love the summer meets! Grade I races on Sunday? That hardly ever happens in the winter and spring, but in the summer Saratoga is bumping every day with a great stakes or graded race on which to wager in the Racebook.

The same is true for this Sunday when some of the fastest horses in the United States will take to the Saratoga dirt course for the Grade II Alfred G. Vanderbilt.

Let’s take a look at Race 10 at Saratoga on Sunday.

Fabulous Strike - - 3/1 fair online betting odds

Yes, there is definitely a lot of speed in this race but Fabulous Strike breaks from the outside post and should be able to track both Fatal Bullet and Go Go Shoot before taking over in the stretch. Fabulous Strike is just that, fabulous, and could provide bettors with a nice pay day should he win as he no doubt could go off at odds of 3 to 1 or higher. He’s a good choice in this race.

Fatal Bullet - - 7/2 fair online betting odds

Fatal Bullet is simply too fast for most of his competition. The difference in this race, though, is that Fabulous Strike is perhaps just as fast and will get to track him while he puts away Go Go Shoot. Fatal Bullet is a serious contender to win the Alfred G. Vanderbilt, but at the expected odds betting him in the exotics might be the way to go.

Kodiak Kowboy - - 4/1 fair online betting odds

Benny the Bull no doubt will be the favored closer in this field which is one of the reasons I like Kodiak Kowboy. His last race, a stakes race at Philadelphia Park, was sensational and he is 2 out of 3 on the Saratoga dirt course. Trainer Larry Jones obviously has him going well right now and the way Benny the Bull ran last time leads me to believe that Kodiak Kowboy is the closer to watch in this race, not Benny the Bull.

Wagering Strategy

Fabulous Strike looks awfully tough to beat to me. I will bet him to win only. I will key him over Fatal Bullet and Kodiak Kowboy in the exacta. I will reverse for less.
