Pick 3 of the Day: Hollywood Park Races 6, 7, and 8

Race-times: Race 6 at 6:04 pm EST, Race 7 at 6:35 pm EST, and Race 8 at 7:05 pm EST
Hollywood Park, because of the usually high amount of dollars put into their Pick 3 pools, provides better Pick 3 payouts than most other racetracks.
Such a case should occur again this Saturday where rolling Pick 3’s could be the horse racing bets of the day.
Let’s take a look at the best Pick 3 bet on Saturday. It occurs in races 6 thru 8 at Hollywood Park.
Hollywood Park – Race 6
6 furlongs on cushion track
Horses Used: pp-7 Public Image, pp-8 Scottish Diamond
Analysis: Public Image gets Martin Pedroza, a known speed jock and, as opposed to what many might believe, this race shouldn’t have as much speed in it as it looks like on paper. Simply put, Public Image is faster early than any of the other horses in here. Scottish Diamond drops yet again for trainer Jeff Mullins who has yet to win at Hollywood Park. He might get his first winner with this guy who is the classiest horse in this race.
Hollywood Park – Race 7
1 1/16th miles on turf
Horses Used: pp-2 Coronel Moldes, pp-3 Squall Creek pp-4 Knockout Artist, pp-5 On Fire, pp-6 Polonius, pp-7 Sartorial
Analysis: Coronel Moldes comes out of the Doug O’Neil barn, has a great race on the turf at 1 1/8 miles on his record and will go off at big odds. Squall Creek figures to get a terrific trip and is ridden by Garrett Gomez. Knockout Artist drops in class for Art Sherman and comes into this off of a terrific 3 furlong work on Nov. 17th. On Fire will need pace to run at but might get it with this field full of front runners and stalkers. His odds should be juicy as well. Polonius is another dropper who ran in the Grade II Oak Tree Mile in October. The drop is a concern but his class is unquestioned. Sartorial gets an extra 16th of a mile to work with and 3 out of 6 at the distance on the turf.
Hollywood Park – Race 8
Grade III Hollywood Prevue
7 furlongs on cushion track
Horses Used: pp-3 Indian Firewater, pp-4 American Lion, pp-5 Macias
Analysis: Indian Firewater will go off the chalk and for good reason. He’s fast, cost $400,000, is trained Bob Baffert and ridden by Garrett Gomez. American Lion was sensational, absolutely sensational, when breaking his maiden in his last. The son of Tiznow’s mother was sired by Storm Cat. Now, that’s breeding! Macias is Baffert’s other horse but might be the better of the two. Macias has improved in each of his three starts and just looks like a runner out there on the track.
Pick 3 Combinations: 2 x 6 x 3 = 36
$1 Pick 3 = $36
