Such is the case in Race 7. Not only is it a full field, but it’s also a race where horse racing fans could possibly find a good overlay to key some healthy profits.

Bema Girl - - 10/1 morning line

The $155,000 purchase sired by Pulpit broke her maiden first time asking. The speed number wasn’t all that spectacular but the running line suggests that she had to wait for an opening and then cruised through it. She’s bred for the turf and trainer Leigh Offutt is 25% off the layoff, 20% first time on the grass and 33% with her last out maidens. Plus, because she’s sired by Pulpit, she’s the classiest horse here.

Act Like A Queen - - 7/2 morning line

The daughter of Theatrical was close in her last, a $25,000 n2L 1 mile turf race at Laurel, when losing by only 1 ½ lengths. She faces what some might consider an easier field in this and will be closing late. Trainer Carlos Garcia is winning with 35% of his mounts at this meet.

Fur Lined - - 3/1 morning line

The morning line chalk might get her own way on the front end as there is precious little other speed in this race. If Bema Girl doesn’t go with her, then she could easily coast to the finish line. Then again, her speed ratings aren’t that great, but she does almost always finish 2nd in her races and she will go into this off of a terrific work on June 20th.

I like Bema Girl to win, place and show if she keeps her 10 to 1 morning line odds. I will also play an exacta and trifecta box with Bema Girl, Act Like A Queen and Fur Lined.
