Golf: John Deere Classic Top Ten
Tee-off: 7/9/2009
Kenny Perry might be the best bet of the week in the BetUS sportsbook. Perry, who won the Traveler’s Championship two weeks ago and will tee off in the John Deere Classic this week, a tournament he won in 2008, is going off at -125 to finish in the Top Ten.
When Perry gets good, and he’s good right now, it’s almost impossible to keep him out of the Top Ten. But, as always, there other golfers with legitimate chances, and at better odds to finish in the Top Ten in the John Deere Classic.
Let’s take a look at the chances of some of the top contenders to finish in the Top Ten
Golf: John Deere Classic Top Ten
- Kenny Perry -125 - - Perry has finished in the Top Ten 7 times out of 16 tournaments this year. He’s also finished in the Top Ten in a Major, the Masters, and is ranked 2nd in the FedEx Cup Points Standings. The winner of the 2008 John Deere Classic should be ultra tough to keep out of the Top Ten this week.
- Steve Stricker Ev - - Stricker has finished 27th and 23rd in his last two events respectively. Considering that he has 6 Top Ten finishes in 14 events started this year, another out of the Top Ten finish isn’t likely. Stricker should bounce back this week. A Top Ten finish is more than likely.
- Lucas Glover +160 - - Glover has been fantastic lately finishing 1st, in the U.S. Open, 11th in the Traveler’s Championship, and a 5th in the AT&T National. He’s playing as well as any golfer on the Tour right now which means a Top Ten finish should be the least of his accomplishments this week.
- David Toms +120 - - Yes, Toms missed the cut in the U.S. Open but before that he finished 2nd in the St. Jude Classic. Then, just two weeks ago, he finished 2nd in the Traveler’s Championship. He does well on this course and has a big shot at finishing in the Top Ten again.
- Zach Johnson +140 - - The #4th ranked player in the FedEx Cup Point Standings hasn’t had a top ten finish since May 31st, when he finished 9th in the Crowne Plaza Invitational. Things could turn around in this tournament as he finished 18th in the Traveler’s Championship two weeks ago.
- Woody Austin +300 - - Austin has an interesting pattern as he will finish out of the Top Ten but then finish in the Top Ten the week after. He finished 22nd in the TPC, 6th in the Crowne Plaza Invitational, 27th in the Memorial Tournament, then 9th in the St. Jude Classic. In his last tournament, the Traveler’s Championship, he missed the cut. Could a Top Ten finish be within reach this week?
