AT&T National Betting - Finishing in the Top Ten

Paging Mr. Woods! Paging Mr. Woods! Tiger returns in the AT&T National and there’s no doubt that he will be looking to win as the Pro-Am before the AT&T National tees off hold the name of his father.

Tiger will obviously be on the prowl to win, but picking the winner isn’t the only category that gamblers need to take a look at. How about cutting the chances of a loss and still getting profits above even money to pick a guy to finish in the top ten?

Let’s take a look at some of the golfers with a chance to finish in the top ten in the AT&T National.

Golf: AT&T National Top Ten

1. Tiger Woods -800 - - I know! This gambler is taking a huge stand by picking Tiger Woods to finish in the top ten, right? Okay, okay, I know that the odds are ridiculous at -800 but the guy has finished in the top ten in 7 out of the 8 tournaments he’s played in this year. Hey, if the BetUS oddsmakers are willing to create a line, then I’m willing to bet it because I can’t think of a surer thing this year.

2. Hunter Mahan +150 - - Mahan has finished in the top ten only 4 times this year out of 16 tournaments, but he’s done it twice in the past two weeks. First, he finished in the top ten at the U.S. Open and then, just this past week, he finished fourth in the Traveler’s Championship.

3. Anthony Kim +175 - - Kim only has 1 to ten finish in 2009 but he, like Mahan, has been very good the past two weeks with top 20 finishes in both the U.S. Open and the Traveler’s Championship. He won this tournament last year so the improvement he’s shown lately is expected to continue.

4. Sean O’Hair +175 - - O’Hair has 6 top ten finishes this year and 11 top 25 finishes out of 14 tournaments. He’s also ranked second on the PGA Tour in greens hit in regulation.

5. Jim Furyk +110 - - Jim Furyk has done everything except winning a tournament lately with 3 top 10 finishes in his last 4 starts. He has 6 top 10 finishes altogether in 2009 and has tied for third in the first two AT&T National events this year.

6. Robert Allenby +275 - - Allenby hasn’t been overly impressive in the top 10 category this year, but in this tournament, he’s been very good finishing 6th in 2007 and tying for 3rd in 2008.

Best Long Shot

Charley Hoffman +675 - - The odds on Hoffman are like that for a reason. The bad news is that Hoffman hasn’t done that well by finishing in the top ten in tournaments in 2009. The good news is that it doesn’t matter because he has done well by making all 15 cuts. He could get into the top ten in this at very, very nice odds.
