No Padraig Means Vijay is the Key at Wyndham

This weekend’s PGA tournament is the Wyndham Classic at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Even though the purse for this tournament is over 5 million dollars, neither Sergio Garcia nor Padraig Harrington will tee off in this event.

In fact, for online golf betting fans, there are a lot of golfers who played in the PGA Championship last weekend missing from this event. I’m not sure how anybody could take a day off in golf when the purses are so freaking high, but, hey, these guys know what they’re doing. No Tiger Woods again who publicly stated, again, that he won’t enter a PGA event until 2009.

In any case us BetUS online sportsbook golf betting fans will be able to try and make some dollars in online match-up betting because the field is wide open. Vijay Singh did win a tournament two weeks ago, but overall he’s been struggling this year.

That makes him, for good or bad, the key golfer in our match-up bets this weekend.

Best Online Golf Match-Up Bets in the Wyndham Classic

1. Vijay Singh online odds – 150 vs. David Toms online odds + 120 - - I have to take a swing on Toms in this match-up. Again, Vijay was great two weekends ago, but he failed to impress in the PGA Championship. Even though Toms hasn’t been all that great this season either, I do like the fact that he’s getting better than even money in the BetUS online sportsbook in this match-up. To me, that makes Toms the play.

2. Paul Casey online odds Even vs Vijay Singh online odds – 140 - - Again, I have to go with the underdog in this match-up. The real reason that Vijay is the favorite in both of these match-ups is because he is the “name” golfer. No Lefty, no Padraig, no Sergio, no Ernie Els…who else do online betting fans know? Nobody. That leaves Vijay as the favorite. Casey hasn’t been horrible. At times Vijay has. To me it’s a no-brainer. In golf match-up betting always take the underdog unless there’s a real reason not to.

3. Chris DeMarco online odds – 130 vs. Davis Love III online odds Even - - This is the kind of tournament where old-schooler Love III could jump up and win. Nobody really pays attention to Davis Love III in tournaments any more. That means he can play relaxed and just hit the ball well.

I like Love the III in this online wagering match-up.

4. Kevin Na online odds – 130 vs. Joe Ogilvie Even - - Ogilvie did okay in the PGA Championship last weekend. Why not take a stab on him in this match-up? Na is good but he’s not – 130 in the BetUS online sportsbook good.

5. Carl Pettersson online odds – 140 vs. Jeev Milkha Singh online odds + 110 - - Because Milkha Singh golfed very well at the PGA Championship, the expectation is that he will bounce in the Wyndham. I’m not buying it. I believe that Singh might keep his good time rolling in this tournament. He could take it to Pettersson at + 110 which would definitely help pad those bankrolls.

Good Luck!
